Race 1

STORMZ POWER showed good improvement in her last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Greyville. She lost a length at the start, ran on but found one too good in the form of I Like It Hot. The daughter of What A Winter will enjoy the straight course and if jumping on terms, she should go one better.

GUEST GETORIXX is still a maiden after 13 outings, but she has finished third in her last five starts over this distance. Rachel Venniker takes the 1.5kgs off her back and she should earn another cheque for her patrons.

WILLOW CREEK is an unraced daughter of What A Winter from the Johan Janse van Vuuren yard with Keagan de Melo in the saddle. Her mother, Wind Chill was a four-time winner from 1450m – 2450m. If not too green, she should start her career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to her chances.

Race 2

VIVID JET is better than her last start over this C&D as the jockey reported something to be amiss. She returns from a 12-week break, which may have done her the world of good. She has won twice from four starts over this C&D. Keagan de Melo rides on her return and she is capable of notching up her fourth career victory.

FRANZ LEHAR never got off to the best of starts last time and never got into the race. He won a good race on debut over this C&D. The son of Querari is above average and will strip a much fitter horse. He is expected to return to best form.

IRFAANS BOY finished 0.8 lengths behind DONQUERARI last time. He is 1kg better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating them in the run down to the line. He is having his peak run today and will be cherry-ripe.

Race 3

SUPER FAST made the expected natural improvement when finishing second over this distance at Hollywoodbets Greyville last time. The son of Querari is a progressive type. In this type of field, he can shed his maiden tag.

LAZY GUY’S last start can be ignored as he was reported to be not striding out. He has finished second twice and third twice from as many starts over this C&D. He runs well for Muzi Yeni and merits healthy respect.

PASCALI ran a good race when finishing third in his last start over 1600m at Hollywoodbets Greyville. He lost a length at the start, but the manner in which he stayed on at the finish was encouraging. The drop to 1200m is a slight concern, but he is progressive and cannot be ignored.

Race 4

MAJESTIC WARRIOR took the lead at the 400m mark last time, moved up but was outrun late by The Bund. The son of Master Of My Fate will enjoy the drop to 1750m and if suited to this course, he may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

RED PIANO has produced two decent efforts since returning from a 12-week break. The manner in which he finishes off his races suggests that he will love the extra distance on offer. The son of Count Dubois is having his peak run and should go close to winning.

ARVERNI KING is the stable companion of the top choice. He stayed on when third over 1600m at Hollywoodbets Greyville last time. The son of Vercingetorix gets the tongue-tie fitted for the first time and he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 5

PEWTER SKY ran a decent race when second in his last start over 1600m at Hollywoodbets Greyville. He raced from a handy position, but found one too good in the form of Cape Eagle. The son of Capetown Noir will love the rise to 1750m. He takes a slight drop in class and can notch up his third career victory.

CAESURA should have finished closer to the winner last time as he had to be switched at the 150m mark. He is in a good space and with a bit of luck in running, he should throw out a challenge to the top choice.

HEY BILL didn’t settle in his last start over 2300m at Hollywoodbets Greyville. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He has won twice, finished second once and third once from seven starts on this course. On best form shown, he should be involved in the fight to the finish.

Race 6

CAPTAIN CASEY is the best bet on the programme. He ran a good race when third in the Listed Model Man Mile last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The son of Captain Of All will enjoy the return to Hollywoodbets Scottsville. He is the best-weighted runner in this race and should take a power of beating.

IRON WILL is better than his last start over 1800m at Hollywoodbets Greyville. He showed good guts when winning his penultimate run over 1600m. Keagan de Melo steps back into the saddle and he may be the one to fill the exacta spot.

MR HENLEY is the stable companion of the top choice. He was unlucky when third in his post-maiden debut over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Greyville on the Polytrack. The son of Master Of My Fate tries the 1500m for the first time and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, he should run into the money.

Race 7

HARLEY’S FATE ran a fair race in the Non-Black Type Beach Beauty Mile last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. The daughter of Master Of My Fate may be better suited to this distance at this stage of her career. She returns to Handicap Company and has plenty of scope.

IMBEWU ran a decent race when fourth in her first run for the Michael Roberts stable. She would have come on from the run and will strip much fitter. From her good draw of three, she should run a big race.

MVULAZANA won a good race in her last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Greyville. She raced from a handy position, quickened up well and won going away. She is up in class, but is in a good space and should be up to the task at hand.

Race 8

This is a competitive Merit Rated 70 Handicap and caution is advised. The tentative first selection is TWO OF US from the Wayne Badenhorst and Barbara Kennedy stable. He finished 2.1 lengths behind MOUNT GREYLOCK last time and is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today. That should be enough for the tables to be turned. He has won once, finished second once and third once from four starts over this C&D. The 7yo gelding can return to winning ways.

MOUNT GREYLOCK won a good race in his last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Greyville. He received a five-pound penalty for that victory and against similar company, he can follow up.

PREEMPTIVE STRIKE is the stable companion of the second choice. His last two starts under Rachel Venniker were good. The son of Twice Over will be mowing down the frontrunners
