CLIFTON BEACH expectedly produced her best when she went down narrowly over this trip at Durbanville recently and she can make amends albeit taking on slightly stronger rivals now. Her good draw is an obvious plus.

This is a most intriguing topliner on the day as none of the seven entrants are comfortable dictating terms. However, the four-year old EARTH HOUR displayed his swift turn of foot in recent starts and the likely sedate gallop won't affect the chances of the son of Lateral. Of course he worked hard for a narrow c & d victory over lesser opposition early last month. He quickened really smartly when pipped in his penultimate run. He should rise to this stronger challenge, having been narrowly defeated by subsequent winner NEW CALEDONIA (2kgs worse off) over this c & d earlier this campaign.

The three-year old DYNASTY'S BLOSSOM has been excellent since trying blinkers and rising in distance. She showed her brilliant turn of foot to easily beat some useful opposition over this c & d late in summer and could still be ahead of the handicapper despite the resultant six pound hike. The likely sedate gallop in this small field won't be an issue for the smart daughter of Dynasty.

This fillies and mares handicap could be straight forward if the in-form entrant EMPIRE RISING can dictate terms from her good draw. The bay daughter of Gimmethegreenlight stayed on well for 2nd in her recent sprint and she will be cherry-ripe today. She will again enjoy the benefit of a 4kgs apprentice claim and is of course weighted to reverse the form of her penultimate run with BON BON.
