TOP BET

Race 1: QUICK GLIMPSE(1)
Jockey: A Delpech  - Trainer: M De Kock

QUICK GLIMPSE was returning from a short absence when she failed on yielding ground in a recent sprint but the imported daughter of Fastnet Rock showed promise prior to that. She finished strongly for a close 2nd in a strong seven furlong contest in her penultimate start and the 5th placed entrant Chariot Of Gold (runs in race 3) has won since. The De Kock inmate should make amends here.

Race 2: CORRIDO(4)
Jockey: K De Melo - Trainer: P Peter

CORRIDO had an excusable last effort in a strong field, the formline of which is worth following and the bay gelding can bounce right back to best today. He went down narrowly in his penultimate run.

Race 4: COLLEGIATE(2)
Jockey: G Lerena  - Trainer: T Zackey

COLLEGIATE had the unenviable task of racing twice inside four days recently and hardly surprisingly fluffed his lines over the mile. However, he showed his true worth when pipped over nine furlongs a few days earlier and the son of Ideal World is bred to love this rise in distance. He had one decent track display and would have benefitted from the short absence.

Race 5: MALINGA(3)
Jockey: R Simons  - Trainer: A Laird

MALINGA is in good form having been outrun late into a close 3rd behind the fast improving three-year old THE ROCKETMAN over this trip four weeks ago. He is 2kgs better off with his conqueror for that one length defeat and of course the runner-up Shenanigans boosted that formline with a cosy subsequent victory.

VALUE BET (EACH WAY) FOR TODAY:

Race 9: SINGASWEWIN(12)
Jockey: C Maujean  - Trainer - G Maroun

Trainer Grant Maroun holds a decent hand in this competitive five furlong handicap sprint where the lesser fancied SINGASWEWIN gets the narrow first selection. The well-tried four-year old bay gelding often gets going late in his races and he did so again at Turffontein three weeks ago but now faces his speedy stablemate GREAT SHAKA on 1.5kgs better terms for a 2.15 lengths deficit.
