MAGICAL FLIGHT ran a good race when finishing second over 1400m on the Standside course last time. She set the pace, but was caught late by the classy War Of Athena. The blinkers seem to have done the trick on the daughter of Willow Magic. 1.5kgs claiming apprentice Joshwin Solomons retains the ride and from her good draw of four, she should be the one to beat.

VELD FLOWER ran a good race when finishing second over 1800m in the Grade 3 Yellowwood Handicap. She was slow into stride, but the manner in which she finished off her race was eye-catching. The 5yo mare won her only attempt over this C&D. She takes a drop in class this afternoon and from pole position, she should take a power of beating.
Race 6: HALLOWEEN (3)
Jockey: Lerena G – Trainer: Crawford B
HALLOWEEN caught the eye when running on strongly to finish third over 1600m at the Vaal last time. She should have won that day as she had to switch at the 250m mark. The daughter of Silvano is having her second run after a rest and will strip fitter. With a bit of luck in running, she should find herself in the winner’s enclosure.
Race 7: PRINCE OF FIRE (2)
Jockey: Danielson R – Trainer: Janse van Vuur
PRINCE OF FIRE is unbeaten from three starts to date. He showed good speed over 1200m last time, found extra and won with a ton in hand. It must be noted that the horses that finished second, third and fourth have all come out and won since. The son of Gimmethegreenlight has ability and should keep his unbeaten record intact.
