MIGHTY GODDESS is one of the better bets on today’s card. She ran a very good race when third over this C&D against winners. She should have finished closer to the winner that day as she hung in the final 200m. She is back in Maiden Company this afternoon and if keeping on a straight line, she should take a power of beating.

Jockey: G Lerena – Trainer: J A Janse van Vuuren
CHYAVANA was not disgraced when fifth in the Non-Black Type WSB Grand Heritage last time. The manner in which he stayed on at the finish was encouraging. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. He has won once and finished second once from three starts over this C&D. Gavin Lerena takes the ride and the combination will be mowing down the frontrunners.

SPIELBERG was doing his best work late when third over 1000m on this course. It must be noted that Umthombo Wolwazi has come out and won again since. He will love the extra distance on offer and can notch up his third career victory.

NAMAQUA BLOSSOM’S last two starts have been good. She stayed on at the finish over 2000m last time, but found one too good in the form of Bellevarde. The manner in which she finishes off her races suggests that she will be at home over this distance. It is encouraging that Raymond Danielson steps back into the saddle and from her handy draw of four, she may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.
