Race 1

JUMPING ANALIA may not have seen out the 1200m last time and is better than that outing suggests. Her first two career efforts over this distance were encouraging. The daughter of Erupt has plenty of scope and in this line-up, she may be the one to side with.

WHITE HILLS showed good speed over this C&D last time, but found one too good in the form of Empress Game. She has finished second twice and third twice from as many starts over this C&D. She will strip a much fitter horse and is one of the leading contenders.

FLYING PUMA finished 2.75 lengths behind the second selection last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result.

Race 2

WEATHER WIZARD produced a promising debut effort over 1450m on the Turffontein Inside course. He jumped outwards leaving the start, but the manner in which he finished off his race was eye-catching. The son of Rafeef would have gained from the experience and should love the rise to the mile. With the natural improvement that is expected, he should be the one to beat.

FORCE DE DIEU ran a decent race on debut over 1450m on the Turffontein Inside course. He was green in running, but stayed on at the business end. He will enjoy the rise to the 1600m and should make the natural progression.

MASTER CHRISTMAS was in need of his debut effort over 1200m. He has been gelded since that outing which may have done the trick. Craig Zackey is booked to ride and with luck in running, there should be improvement to come.

Race 3

REGAL DAUGHTER has shown improvement in each of her efforts to date. She stayed on when third over 1450m on this course last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. She will strip a much fitter horse and from her good draw of four, she may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.

VENETIAN MOONLIGHT has produced two fair efforts to date. She was reported to be not striding out in her last start over 1200m. The daughter of Lancaster Bomber will be at home over the mile and should pose a massive threat.

CITY LIGHTS stayed on when fourth over 1450m last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. If jumping on terms, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 4

UNITED WE STAND should have finished closer to the winner last time as she was squeezed at the 400m mark. The manner in which she finishes off her races suggests that she will love the rise to 1800m. With luck in running, she can shed her maiden tag.

SOLO DIVA has some good recent form lines to her credit. She should have no issues with the drop to 1800m and S’manga Khumalo may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her where it matters most.

AZALEAS FOR ALL raced from a handy position last time, but found one too good in the form of Champagne Cocktail. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. The daughter of Captain Of All should earn another cheque for her patrons.

Race 5

COVERT OPERATOR fought hard for his last victory over 1000m on this course. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. He has won twice and finished second twice from six starts on this course. He meets a similar line-up this afternoon and can follow up.

TWICE THE STORM did his best work late when third over this C&D last time. He has finished second twice and third twice from as many starts over this C&D. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

ESQUEVELLE’S last three starts in KZN have been good. He is likely to race on the speed and with Piere Strydom in the saddle, he merits healthy respect.

Race 6

POWER BROKER finished 1 length behind BLACK EGRET last time. He is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He has won once and finished second three times from five starts over this distance. He is likely to race on the speed from his wide draw and may be hard to peg back.

BLACK EGRET is a winner of his last two starts. He has won three times and finished third twice from six starts over this distance. He received a three-pound penalty for his last victory and with Piere Strydom in the saddle, he can notch up the hat-trick.

TEXAS RED’S last two starts have been fair. He has won three times and finished third once from as many starts over this C&D. If getting away to a clean start, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 7

ROSE FOR TRIPPI was squeezed leaving the start last time, but stayed on at the finish. Her penultimate run when third over this distance on the Turffontein Inside course catches the eye. She returns to Handicap Company and if getting away to a clean start, she can return to winning ways.

GLOBAL THUNDER showed good speed when winning her last start over 1200m. She found another kick that day and drew clear of the opposition. She finished 1.25 lengths behind the top choice in her penultimate run. She is 3.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result.

WINGS WITHIN ME stayed on when second over this distance on the Turffontein Inside course last time. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. She takes a rise in class, but carries a handy galloping mass of 54kgs and should be up to the task at hand.

Race 8

DIVINE MOONLIGHT ran a decent race in her last start over 1200m against slightly stronger company. She has finished second once and third once from three starts on this course. She has no concerns with the drop to 1000m and if putting her best foot forward, she may be hard to peg back in the run down to the line.

LIL MISS MONEYBAGS’ last two starts for the Robyn Klaasen yard have been good. It must be noted that the form of her last run has been franked. If not in need of the run, she should be competitive.

INVENTRIX showed good speed and fought back well to win her last start over 1200m on this course. She has won over this distance in the past and with Piere Strydom retaining the ride, she should feature
