SOUTH EAST is the best bet on the programme. He has finished runner-up in his last two starts. He tried the blinkers for the first time in his last start, but was outrun in the latter stages. He does not meet the strongest field today and with Piere Strydom in the saddle, he should take a power of beating.
Race 2: SWEET SENSATION (10)

SWEET SENSATION produced a promising debut effort and followed that up with a cracking effort in the Fillies Nursery last time. She raced from just off the pace that day and the manner in which she stayed on at the finish was encouraging. She faces a lot weaker company today and Piere Strydom steps back into the saddle. The daughter of Var looks to have ability and should be too good for this field.
Race 3: DARK TIDE (1)
Jockey: V.Rensburg M - Trainer: Houdalakis M
This is a weak Maiden Plate and DARK TIDE has the best credentials on paper. He was slow into stride last time, but he ran on well in the closing stages. The drop back in trip should not pose a concern as he finished runner-up over this c&d in his penultimate race. If jumping on terms, he should be the one to beat in this type of field.
Race 5: FLASHLIGHT (5)
Jockey: Habib Devin - Trainer: Woodruff G
FLASHLIGHT is a five-year old mare who is having only her second run. She produced a promising debut effort when finishing 2nd over this c&d. She raced from just off the pace that day and fought hard all the way to the finishing post. Devin Habib retains the ride this afternoon and with the natural improvement that is expected, she should go one better here.

Jockey: Maujean C - Trainer: Kenny S
TOKYO DRIFT is the value bet on today's card. He was in need of his last start over six furlongs on this course. He is better suited to this distance as he has won once, finished second ten times and third three times from twenty attempts. The eight-year old gelding should strip much fitter this afternoon and if putting his best foot forward, he may be the one to side with.
