MI CAPE TOWN

MI Cape Town got their campaign back on track last time out when they beat the Paarl Royals by 13 runs at Boland Park. The Paarl Royals won the toss and sent MI Cape Town into bat and having looked in big trouble at one point they scrambled their way to a 142 for 9 off their 20 overs. Star of the show for MI Cape Town was Rassie van der Dussen with 49 off 42 balls and there was also a well-played 34 off 30 balls by Grant Roelofsen.

MI Cape Town managed to keep the pressure on the Paarl Royals all the way through eventually restricting them to 129 for 6. George Linde with 2 for 23 and Kagiso Rabada with 2 for 27 got amongst the wickets, but arguably the pick of the bowlers was Rashid Khan with his 1 for 16 off 4 overs.

PRETORIA CAPITALS

The Pretoria Capitals are coming off a defeat to the Paarl Royals at Boland Park on Sunday. The Pretoria Capitals had won the toss and decided to bat first reaching a competitive 158 for 6 off their 20 overs. Theunis de Bruyn with 53 off 47 was the pick of the batsmen.

The Paarl Royals managed to knock off the runs with 2 balls to spare and 6 wickets in hand and Will Jacks got the most wickets taking 2 for 7 in just 1 over and there was a good economical spell from Adil Rashid with 1 for 26 in his 4 overs.

MI Cape Town 17/20

Pretoria Capitals 1/1

Suggested Bet: Pretoria Capitals win at 1/1

This is a true heavy weight clash and I agree with the bookmakers that there is not much between the sides in the betting. Personally though I would have this Pretoria Capitals team as favourite as they have all basis covered as far as team selection goes.

Remember that there are plenty of opportunities to back teams in-running and a good strategy in T20 cricket is often to take a team when they have their backs to the wall and just a couple of good overs or quick wickets can really swing a match.

Suggested Bet: Over 1, Pretoria Capitals Total over 5.5 runs at 15/20

I am trusting that Salt will be back to open the innings with Jacks and this is a formidable combination that has done me well in this market over the course of the Tournament.

Suggested Bet: MI Cape Town Top Bowler, Rashid Khan at 39/20

Khan has been bowling well without always getting reward and I think he will have his chances getting wickets when the aggressive Pretoria Capitals top order go after him.
