Let's recap on how these teams fared earlier in the competition and in their domestic leagues.

RB Leipzig

Leipzig are one of the surprise names in the last 4 but there was further evidence of what a good side they are when they beat Atletico Madrid 2-1 in the quarter finals last week. After a goalless first half they took the lead through Olmo on 50 minutes, Atletico hit back with a 71st minute penalty but Leipzig didn't buckle and an 88th minute goal from Adams was enough to see them through.

In the Round of 16 Leipzig put Spurs away 4-0 on aggregate, winning both legs of the tie. Their group stage form which comprised of 3 wins, 2 draws and 1 defeat was less spectacular but in the Bundesliga they finished in a very solid third position.

PSG

There was even more late drama in PSG's quarter final match up with Atalanta. They were even money favourites to win the game but were 1-0 down from the 26th minute until the death. Heading into injury time Marquinhos equalized and 3 minutes late PSG were 2-1 up thanks to Choupo-Moting. That was enough and PSG are in the semi finals of Europe's top cup competition for the first time in 25 years.

Earlier PSG breezed through the group stage with 5 wins and 1 draw to top the quartet ahead of Real Madrid with Club Brugge and Galatasaray third and fourth. They lost the first leg of their Round of 16 clash with Dortmund 2-1 away from home but turned things around with a 2-0 win in Paris.

The Ligue 1 season never returned from lockdown when PSG were 12 points clear of Marseille.

The Betting

Leipzig can be backed at around 13/4 to win in 90 minutes with the draw available at 59/20 and you should find odds of 8/10 or so for PSG to win in regulation time.

As far as the goals markets are concerned it's 6/10 for both sides to find the net in 90 minutes and a game of 3 goals or more in total is also 6/10.

Verdict:

Although how the quarter finals played out was largely unpredictable PSG dodged a bullet and I can see them going in again here. One would imagine Mbappe will start and the French side should have too much for Leipzig in my view. Rather than take the odds on I will go with PSG to win a game of 3 goals or more in total.

Bets: PSG to win in 90 minutes and over 2.5 total goals at 13/10
