football.europaThe Europa League Final takes place in Cologne on Friday night when Sevilla bid to add to their impressive record in this competition when they take on Inter Milan.

Sevilla

Sevilla came from behind to beat Manchester United in the semi final last Sunday. They were 1-0 down inside 10 minutes after conceding a penalty but were back on level terms in the 26th minute through Fernández Saez . The decisive goal came from de Jong on 78 minutes and Sevilla are now in with a shout of a sixth Europa League trophy since 2006.

Sevilla also knocked out English opposition in the quarter finals. They were paired with Wolves and Lucas Ocampos scored the only goal of the game in the 88th minute long after Wolves missed an early penalty.

Earlier results in this competition include a 2-0 win over Roma in a tie settled over 1 leg. Prior to that they edged past CFR Cluj on away goals whilst 5 wins in the group stage offered a comfortable passage through.

In La Liga Sevilla finished the season really well to take fourth spot and they are now unbeaten in 20 games across all competitions.

Inter

Inter's semi final match up with Shakhtar on Monday night proved to be a one sided affair. Martinez scored the first of his brace in the first half and 4 more goals followed, 2 of which came from Lukaku who has now found the net in 10 consecutive Europa League games.

Inter had booked their semi final place with a 2-1 win over Bayer Leverkusen in the last 8. All the goals came early with Inter racing into a 2-0 lead inisde 21 minutes through Barella and Lukaku, Leverkusen quickly got 1 back but there was to be no futher scoring.

Inter joined the Europa League after failing to make the Champions League knockout rounds and in the Round of 16 Inter beat Getafe 2-0 in a tie settled over 1 leg. Before lockdown they were 4-1 winners on aggregate against Ludogorets.

In Serie A Inter finished strongly with 6 wins and 2 draws in their last 8 matches but they finished as runners up to Juventus, just 1 point in arrears. With just 36 goals conceded they had the best defensive record in the top flight.

The Betting

Sevilla are around 49/20 to win in regulation time whist a draw is 47/20 and Inter can be backed at 11/10. A game of 3 goals or more in total is priced at 19/20 and its 8/10 for both sides to find the net in 90 minutes.

The Verdict:

Inter's trophy drought in Europe is plenty long enough but although they come up against a a very decent Sevilla side who know how to win this competition, I'm siding with the Italian's. Lukaku and Martinez are in red hot form and in my view a close second to Juve in Serie A looks stronger than a distant fourth in La Liga.

If you don't fancy the match result then 2-3 goals in total in the 90 minutes at a shade of odds on should give you a decent run for your money.

Final Bets
