Brent/Chris please feel free to adjust thread name.

Just keen to get out early, really fancy one bet in NZ week 1 -

Higlanders +8.5 @ 10/11

Good pre season but for first time in a while appear to have built some decent depth. Tony Brown going along nicely and a coach I rate highly. I see this cap closer to a 3 or 4 pointer as Saders tend to start seasons slowly.

Thanks for getting the rugby thread going South

I had a quiet weekend after the Force dropped me (and the Brumbies cause I was on Total Points) but in my only other involvement went overs in the Bears game so broke square

Real quality this weekend and THE HANDICAP show should be a cracker

Here is some early betting atWSB

Super Rugby AU
Reds -10.5 v Rebels
Brumbies -15.5 v Waratahs

Super Rugby AO
Highlanders +7.5 v Crusaders
Hurricanes v Blues choice game

Six Nations Week 3
Italy +20.5 v Ireland
Wales +6.5 v England
France -7.5 v Scotland

Rebels been somewhat of a kryptonite for the Reds recently. At double digits, I'll take a small nibble on Rebels +10.5.

Elsewhere, strong on Landers +8.5 and Blues board at 1/1.

Also leaning Tahs +15.5

Preparation series also kicking off. Supersport are broadcasting all the fixtures as far as I know so we should have some betting available.

Found some Wales +7.5 @ 1.91

I think more than a converted score is too much here.

Wales have very much ridden their luck so far, but they've shown decent improvement on both sides of the ball since the autumn.
They get a few players back too - Navidi, North, J Davies & Adams. Some difficult selection choices to be made in midfield and back 3.

England however have gone the other way for me and I expect stubborn old Eddie to trot out the same/similar lineup with horribly out of form Billy V, Farrell & Daly.

Looking at all meetings between these 2 since 2010, this bet would've won 13/17 times & 7/7 times at the Millennium stadium.

That Highlanders team does look good, really don't want to read too much into pre season but they looked promising from what I saw, echo others that the + looks the play.

Couple of season interests for top try
Nareki 22/1
Laumape 22/1

Waratahs look in for a hiding, happy to take -16.

Six Nations treble
Wales +6
Italy +21
France -2

Even with the COVID outs France have, it seems to me the books have overreacted massively, with the line now -2.5 for France from the -12.5 it originally opened up as. France proved in the final of the Autumn cup they have plenty of depth across the board, I’m struggling to see why I shouldn’t be loading up on the French

Oh my word, this Highlanders team looks a sitter on paper, and under the roof ,they will play a fast game against my BELOVED Crusaders team. Gosh , their loose trio looks impressive, two brilliant young fly halves , fast props, experience hookers. Everything points to the Highlanders to cause an upset in the opener. For me Highlanders WIN and Highlanders on best PLUS handicap. My best for the weekend. This is GOLDEN value against the red train.

Saders tight 5 far superior for me, I think they can win fairly comfortably
Saders -6 @ 1.91

On the outrights having a dabble on Leicester Faingaanuku top season try scorer @ 34
Likely to get a few games with George Bridge injury keeping him out the first few rounds

I agree, the pack will monster them, especially in the line out and maul,
Tony Brown is a factor though.
After looking around, I jumped on the Crusaders alternative line from Bet365 -4.5 @ $1.87 NZD
The main line started at -8.5 as I sure all have seen.

After making a rare appearance last night on the Handicap there was no such thing as some beginners luck, early calls Highlander plus 8.5 butchered by an inept home side with white line fever, a cagy call on the Reds which was never in the hunt and finally an unders call my main bet squashed at Sale.
Much work to do on Saturday .

At this point in time, no matter what I bet on the opposite will happen.

If I bet on the Blues to win and on the Hurricanes to win and on a draw then there will probably be an earthquake and the whole of New Zealand will be swallowed by the sea.

Not getting further involved and just hope Blues can come back and win
