Race 1

FLYING HAFLA ran a good race when fourth over 1600m on this course last time. It must be noted that Warrior Royale has come out and won again since. The daughter of Vercingetorix should love the rise to 1800m. She has cracked a good draw of three and should be the one to beat.

ART NOUVEAU has improved in her last two starts, the latest of which was over 1700m on the polytrack. The daughter of Querari is a progressive type and she may be the one to fill the exacta spot.

HURRICANE FLIGHT ran a fair race over 2000m on this course last time. Her best career effort came under Rachel Venniker. She can earn another cheque.

Race 2

PERILLA is a winner of her last two starts, the latest of which was over this distance on the polytrack. She is unbeaten from two starts over this C&D. Rachel Venniker takes the 1.5kgs off her back which will assist her cause. She is in a good space and can bring up the hat-trick.

SIMPLE SIMPLE stayed on when fourth over 1200m on this course last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. She is likely to race on the speed and may be hard to peg back.

LITTLEBLACKVELVET gave 4kgs claiming apprentice Mxolisi Mbuto his first winner last time. She finished 3.5 lengths behind the top choice in her penultimate run. She is 1.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may battle to turn the form around.

Race 3

PROFESSOR LUPIN‘S last three starts have been good. He moved up like a winner over 1200m on the polytrack last time before getting caught late by Stars In Heaven. He has won once and finished third once from as many starts over this distance. He is in a good space and may be the one to beat.

MASTERBLING won a good race over this distance on the polytrack last time. He finished 1.4 lengths behind the top choice in his penultimate run. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result.

MASK ON is better than his last start over this distance on the polytrack. His form prior to that outing was consistent. He gets the services of 4kgs claiming apprentice Jacey Botes which will assist his cause.

Race 4

BLOWIN IN THE WIND has finished second in her last three starts, the latest of which was over this distance on the turf. She has cracked pole position and may be rewarded for consistency.

CHAKPORI ran a good race when third over 1200m on this course last time. She has cracked a good draw of three and is one of the leading contenders.

SUNKA WAKAN finished 3.3 lengths behind the second selection last time. She is 3kgs worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result. She is having her peak run today and will be cherry-ripe.

Race 5

TWILIGHT BAY has fair form lines to her credit. She set the pace over 1600m on the turf last time and stayed on to finish fifth. It must be noted that Warrior Royale has come out and won again since. The daughter of Potala Palace gets the blinkers fitted for the first time which should keep her mind on the task at hand. She has scope and may be the one to side with.

MISS MAYFLY showed good improvement over 1200m on this course last time. She will love the extra furlong on offer and if confirming her recent improvement, she should pose a threat.

YELLOW JACKET set the pace over 1700m last time before getting caught late by Sascha’s Dream. She is suited to this distance and may be hard to peg back.

Race 6

ANDY COOGLE‘S last three starts have been fair. It must be noted that Neitherherenother has come out and won again since. Apprentice Nirvan Nastili takes the 2.5kgs off his back which will assist his cause. He is likely to use his early gate speed to overcome the widest draw and he may be hard to peg back.

JOSHUA HOTSNAKE‘S last two starts have been good. He has won twice, finished second four times and third once from eight starts over this C&D. He is having his peak run today and is one of the leading contenders.

KIMBALL O’HARA was given a peach of a ride when winning his last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. He returns from a well-deserved 10-week break. If fit, he should finish in the money.

Race 7

HIPPOCRATES‘ last three starts have been good. He set the pace over this C&D last time and stayed on to finish fourth. He has won four times, finished second twice and third twice from 12 starts over this C&D. He is likely to race on the speed from his good draw of four and may be hard to peg back.

PURPLE POWAHOUSE moved up like a winner last time before getting outrun late. The 15-week break may have done him the world of good. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

TEEREX finished 5.8 lengths behind the top selection last time. He is 3.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.

Race 8

PORFIRIO finished 2.1 lengths behind BOM BOM last time. He is 5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He tries the 1900m for the first time and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, he can notch up his fifth-career victory.

BOM BOM ran a good race when second over 1600m on this course last time. He steps up to 1900m and if suited to the extra distance on offer, he should go close.

THE MIKADO is better than his last start as he was reported to be coughing. The blinkers have been quickly removed. His only victory came under Serino Moodley and the combination cannot be ignored
