FRIDA KAHLO is an unraced daughter of Gimmethegreenlight from the Justin Snaith stable with Grant van Niekerk in the saddle. She is related to multiple winners including Kasimir and Afrikaburn. If not in need of this outing, she should start her career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to her and the other unraced entrants.
Race 2
CORK BAY produced a promising debut effort over this C&D. He should have finished closer to the winner that day as he had to be switched for running room at the 300m mark. The son of Rafeef was reported to have choked up. He would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, he may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.
FENCING CAPTAIN showed good speed before getting caught late when second over this C&D last time. Richard Fourie retains the ride and the combination merit healthy respect.
SCOTTISH LINKS ran a good race on debut over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. He returns from an 18-week break, during which time he would have strengthened up. If not in need of this outing, he should be involved in the fight to the finish.
Race 3
SPECIAL GLAMOUR produced an encouraging debut effort over 1400m on this course. She understandably raced green but stayed on nicely at the finish. The daughter of Soqrat should have no issues with the drop to 1250m. With the natural improvement that is expected, she can win a race of this nature.
CHAMPAGNE KISSES finished 1.25 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result.
BEACH QUEEN is a well-bred daughter of Gimmethegreenlight from the Justin Snaith stable and Grant van Niekerk does duty. She is related to multiple winners including Narina Trogon, Wild Coast and Beach Bomb. If not too green, she should start her career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to her chances.
Race 4
CRESCENT showed very good improvement when fourth over 1000m on this course last time. The manner in which he stayed on at the finish that day suggests that he will love the rise to 1250m. The son of Legislate is a progressive type and from his good draw of four, he may be the one to side with.
ZEITZ ran a good race on debut over this C&D. He was green in running but the manner in which he finished off his race was encouraging. The son of Vercingetorix would have come on from the run and should make the natural improvement.
SIR KORSKI produced a promising debut effort over this C&D. He was green in running and stayed on at the business end. He jumps from a good draw of three and must be included in all bets.
Race 5
WILD APPLAUSE produced a promising debut effort over 1250m on this course. She raced from just off the pace and stayed on at the finish. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. The daughter of Vercingetorix will love the rise to 1400m and with the natural improvement that is expected, she should take a power of beating.
TUSCAN ROMANCE has finished second in her three efforts to date. She was caught late by Golden Angel over this C&D last time. The daughter of Master Of My Fate would have come on from that outing and should strip much fitter.
DOUBLE DASH finished 0.5 lengths behind the second selection last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them at the finish.
Race 6
FLY TO RIO won a good race in her last start over this C&D. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The 7yo mare meets a similar line-up this afternoon and can notch up her sixth- career victory.
HANG OUT THE STARS was running on when second over 1250m on this course last time. She finished 1.5 lengths behind the top choice in her penultimate run. She is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish.
TRES CHIC was a beaten favourite in her last start over 1250m on this course. The manner in which she finishes off her races suggests that she will enjoy the rise to 1400m. She is drawn widest of all but gets the services of Luyolo Mxothwa who will give her all the necessary assistance from the saddle.
Race 7
ONE LINER followed up his debut victory with a good second-place finish over 1250m on this course. He tried hard all the way to the line but found one too good in the form of King Of Spin. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The son of One World will love the rise to 1400m and with luck from his awkward draw of nine, he may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.
PLEASE BE TRUE finished 2.75 lengths behind the top selection last time. He is 2kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result. If keeping on a straight line, he can return to winning ways.
COMMANDING should have finished closer to the winner last time as he had to be switched for running room at the 300m mark. He returns from a 12-week break, during which time he was gelded. If not in need of this outing, he should give a good account of himself.
Race 8
DARK WINTER is better than her last start in the Grade 2 World Pool With Gold Circle Debutante. She returns from a 10-week break and is having her first run for the season. She was an easy winner of her penultimate start over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. The daughter of What A Winter has ability and if fit, she should be competitive.
SHE’S MY CAPTAIN lasted long enough when winning her last start over 1000m on this course. She is at her best over shorter but is in a good space and merits healthy respect.
GREAT CAT has good recent form lines to her credit. She raced from just off the pace over this C&D last time and stayed on to finish third. The daughter of Dynasty is having her peak run and will be cherry-ripe.
Race 9
KINKY BOOTS has fair recent form lines to her credit. She stayed on when fifth over 1250m on this course last time. The daughter of Master Of My Fate may be ideally suited to this C&D. Despite carrying joint top weight, she would not be a shock winner.
GLEE CLUB has consistent form lines to her name. She stayed on when fourth over 1800m on this course last time. The daughter of The United States gets the blinkers fitted for the first time which should keep her mind on the task at hand. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.
PENTOLINA won a good race in her last start over this C&D. She takes on stronger company but has scope and should be up to the task at hand.
Race 10
DUBBELOSIX showed good improvement when fourth over 1400m on this course last time. It must be noted that On My Honour has come out and won again since. He finished 0.3 lengths behind JOUEUR DE FLUTE last time and is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today. He is coming along the right way and from pole position, he may be the one to side with.
JOUEUR DE FLUTE set the pace over 1400m last time and stayed on to finish third. The son of Rafeef tries 1600m and if suited to the extra distance on offer, he may be hard to peg back.
MARINE MERCHANT produced a promising debut effort over 1250m on this course. It must be noted that Twentytwentyvision has come out and won again since. With a bit of luck from the widest draw, he should be involved in the fight to the finish
