One of the most anticipated tournaments of the DP World Tour season takes place this week at Wentworth in Surrey where the top players will battle it out around the famous golf course for their share of the prize pool.
We look at this week’s golf from a betting angle and share our bets.
Course
In a country with so many great links courses, Wentworth sticks out as one of the top Parkland courses. Playing to a Par 72, the course is extremely tight with tree lined fairways and thick rough keeping players under pressure on every hole. The greens are fast and putting your ball in the right areas is going to be essential to avoid 3 putts. It will be a great test of accuracy for some of the best players in the world.
To win this week a player will need to be on top of every aspect of his game and course form also holds up well in this event.

SELECTIONS:
Rasmus Hojgaard at 31.00
Hojgaard pulled off a brilliant win last weekend at the Irish Open, as he finished his round with a birdie and going on to win the tournament by one shot. Hojgaard’s last three results have now been 1,17,3 and if he can continue this run of form going into this weekend he stands a good chance. His course form has improved and after missing cuts in his 1st 2 starts he has finished 18th and 45th.
Rasmus Hojgaard each way at 31.00
Shane Lowry at 15.00
Lowry has been playing very solid golf over the last couple of weeks finishing 13th or better in his last three starts. He just needs to find something that will push him closer to the top of the leaderboard and coming to a course where he won in 2022 and has not finished outside the top 20 in his last 7 starts may be just what he needs to get over the line.
Shane Lowry each way at 15.00
Alex Fitzpatrick at 81.00
An outside shot, but a player that has been going under the radar and who is on a really solid run of form. Fitzpatrick has finished 9th, 6th, 12th and 6th over his last four starts on the DP World Tour. He has only played this event once making the cut last year and on current form I am expecting big improvement.
Alex Fitzpatrick each way at 81.00 and a top 10 finish at 6.50
Jordan Smith at 67.00
Smith hasn’t lit this course up but does have a couple of solid top 25 finishers over the years and based on his current form of 7,12,12 in his last 3 starts he looks worth a play at attractive odds.
Jordan Smith each way at 67.00
