FRIDAY

Pumas v Western Province – Click here to bet

Pumas are flying high at the top of the table with 5 wins and 1 loss in their opening 6 games. They bounced back from defeat to the Sharks on the road with a 64-6 hammering of the Griffons in Welkom last week. Their last home game was a 28-13 win over the Griquas.

Province are currently sitting 4th in the table and have a 50% win/loss record with 3 wins and 3 defeats. They were well backed last week against the Cheetahs, but found the table toppers too good going down 17-26 in Cape Town and their last away game was a 13 point defeat in a low scoring encounter in Durban.

Handicap: Pumas -12.5

The Pumas tend to let punters down when they are big favourites but they should be too good for a WP team that looks to be taking some strain in the depth department.

Suggested Bet: Pumas -12.5 at 10/11

SATURDAY

Blue Bulls v Lions – Click here to bet

The Blue Bulls are currently 7th on the log on 13 points, 1 point behind the Lions who sit 5th. Both teams have won 2 and lost 4 of their opening 6 matches.

The Bulls pulled off a minor upset last week when they beat the Sharks 24-20 in Durban. Their last home game was a 40-3 demolishing of Griquas.

The Lions found Griquas just too strong last week going down in the last minute 18-25 at home and their last away game was back in Week 2 against the Pumas when they went down 27-34.

Handicap: Blue Bulls -12.5

The Lions may well load their team with some URC players as they have nothing left to play for in that comp and that should be enough to see the Lions cover the cap.

Suggested Bet: Lions +12.5 at 10/11

SUNDAY

Griquas v Griffons – Click here to bet

The Griquas currently sit 6th on the log with 3 wins and 3 defeats in their opening 6 games while the Griffons are bottom of the table with just 1 win so far this season.

Last week the Griquas required a late try to beat the Lions 25-18 in Joburg and it was a good bounce back for them after a 37 points defeat to the Bulls at Loftus the week before. Griquas last home game was a come from behind 48-40 win over the Natal Sharks back in Week 2.

The Griffons were put to the sword by the Pumas last week losing by 58 points at home and they had previously been more competitive playing Western Province in Cape Town where they went down 47-28.

Handicap: Griquas -30.5

This is a very high handicap and I have no strong preference either way. I do think the points will flow though and will take a conservative play on over 64.5 points in the match. I will probably get more involved when the Griquas points line is out and will be an overs player at around the 46 points mark.

Suggested Bet: Over 64.5 points at 10/11
