BettingDiaryThe PSL season is nearing its conclusion and we take a look at 3 of the matches taking place this weekend and suggest a bet in each.

FRIDAY

SUPERSPORT UNITED v SWALLOWS

SuperSport are 8th on the table, but have only won 2 of their last 10 fixtures and have drawn 4 of their last 6. Their last 2 games have been goalless draws at home to Stellenbosch and away at Marumo Gallants.

They face a Swallows side that is currently sitting 2nd from bottom of the log and with only 4 wins in 27 matches this season. Last time out they lost 1-0 at home to AmaZulu. Their last 2 away games have been 1-1 draws at Marumo Gallants and Maritzburg United.

Swallows away matches have been the lowest scoring in the Division, averaging just 1.3 goals each with only 2 of the 13 matches delivering you a profit had you backed over 2.5 goals.

SuperSport United beat Swallows 3-0 away from home earlier in the season and last season both fixtures were drawn 1-1.

SuperSport United 12/10

Draw 15/8

Swallows 29/10

Suggested Bet: Correct score 1-1 at 4/1

SuperSport are looking to hang on to a Top 8 place while Swallows will be desperate for any points to get them clear of the relegation zone. This game should be tight and I think we should be heading for a draw which for the more conservative punters is available at 15/8.

SATURDAY

CAPE TOWN CITY v TS GALAXY

Cape Town City are up to 3rd on the log and were a bit disappointing in midweek drawing 0-0 with Chippa United on the road. Prior to that they had beaten Kaizer Chiefs 2-1 also away from home and overall this season they have only lost once on the road in 13 matches winning 7 and drawing 5.

TS Galaxy are sitting just above the relegation zone and they are in decent form with 2 wins and 2 draws from their last 4 starts. Last time out they beat Orlando Pirates 1-0 at home. Their last away game was a 1-0 victory over Sekhukhune.

Cape Town City home matches have averaged 2.5 goals each with a fairly even split of over and under 2.5 goals while T Galaxy away matches have averaged 1.9 and their last 5 games have all had 2 goals or less in them.

These sides played to a 2-2 draw at TS Galaxy earlier in the season and Cape Town City won this fixture 3-2 last season.

Cape Town City 1/1

Draw 22/10

TS Galaxy 16/5

Suggested Bet: Cape Town City win at 1/1

Cape Town City should be too strong for Galaxy although I am always wary of a team that is desperate for points at this stage of the season.

SUNDAY

KAIZER CHIEFS v MAMELODI SUNDOWNS

Kaizer Chiefs won their last start 1-0 at home to Marumo Gallants breaking a 4 match losing streak. They currently sit 4th on the table 19 points behind champions, Mamelodi Sundowns who have only lost 2 matches all season.

Sundowns last game was a 2-0 victory over Sekhukhune on the road and they have only conceded 7 goals in 13 away matches this season.

Sundowns were too strong for Chiefs in the reverse fixture winning 2-0 at home and last season they won this fixture 3-0.

Kaizer Chiefs 3/1

Draw 2/1

Mamelodi Sundowns 11/10

Suggested Bet: Sundowns win at 11/10

There is a chance that Sundowns could step off the gas now that they have won the title, but think they will always be up for a game against Kaizer Chiefs. Sundowns have an excellent record when playing Chiefs away from home and have won their last 3 League encounters and I am happy to take anything above even money that they win this one.
