BettingDiaryEngland and Ireland meet in the 3rd and Final ODI on Tuesday and like the previous two it takes place in Southampton.

Ireland put up a better performance in the 2nd ODI scoring 212 for 9 in their 50 overs. The star of the innings was once again South African born, Campher who came in 7th and scored 68 off 87 balls. England’s destroyer in chief was Rashid who got 3 for 34 in 10 overs and there were also good contributions from the other bowlers.

England’s reply began poorly with Roy departing for a duck, but fellow opener Bairstow justified our confidence in him scoring 82 which included fourteen 4’s, comfortably more than the five we needed him to score. Billings also chipped in with an unbeaten 46 and England won the match with 17.3 overs to spare and 4 wickets in hand.

This 3rd ODI is a dead rubber and teams may well experiment with their line ups a bit. England are predictably short at 1/14 and once again we will be looking to the other markets on offer for a betting interest.

Suggested Bet: Batsman Total Match 4’s, Roy over 4.5 at 17/20

Roy has failed to fire in this series so far scoring 24 in the 1st ODI and a duck in the 2nd. I am hoping he plays himself in before cutting lose and if he bats for any length of time the 5 boundaries we need for this bet to arrive should not be an issue.

Suggested Bet: Top Away Batsman, Tector at 13/2

Tector let us down in the 1st ODI where he failed to trouble the scorers, but he showed promise last time out scoring 28, albeit as a pedestrian rate. I am backing him to build on that and to be the top Irish batsman at what looks an attractive price.
