BettingDiaryThere are a massive 5 English Premier League matches taking place on Wednesday and we suggest a bet in each.

BURNLEY v ASTON VILLA

Burnley are 15th on the table with 2 wins and 3 losses in their last 5 games. They were competitive last time out before snatching a late winner against Liverpool at Anfield. Their last home game was a 1-0 defeat to Manchester United and their last 5 matches in the League have seen exactly one goal scored.

Aston Villa are coming off a 2-0 win over Newcastle a result which pushed them up to 8th on the table and broke a 3 match run without a victory. Their last away game was a 2-0 defeat at Manchester City, a game where they were competitive and certainly created plenty of chances.

Burnley 27/10

Draw 5/2

Aston Villa 21/20

Suggested Bet: Burnley win at 27/10

I was impressed by Burnley’s performance against Liverpool and I was surprised at getting over 2.5/1 for a victory here. Villa did impress me against Manchester City, but if Burnley can reproduce anything like what they showed against Liverpool they must be strong contenders. As far as goals go I am staying out of it, but note that Burnley are the lowest scoring in the Division have in their 8 home games averaged 1.6 goals each.

CHELSEA v WOLVES

Chelsea are 9th on the log and have lost 3 of their last 5 matches, most recently going down 2-0 away at Leicester. Their last home game was a 3-1 defeat to Manchester City.

Wolves are in free fall and are down to 14th position on the table taking just 2 points from their 5 matches and they haven't won in their last 6. Last time out they were beaten 3-2 at home by West Brom and their last away game was a 3-3 draw at Brighton.

Chelsea 13/20

Draw 61/20

Wolves 9/2

Suggested Bet: Over 2.5 goals at 17/20

Basing this mainly on the fact that Wolves recent matches have been filled with goals with no fewer than 14 in their last 3 games.

BRIGHTON v FULHAM

It is probably not too early to talk about relegation six-pointers and this could be a crucial game with 17th placed Brighton hosting 18th placed Fulham.

Fulham are 5 points behind Brighton, but have a game in hand. Brighton got a valuable 3 points in their last start getting their 1st win in 9 matches when they beat Leeds 1-0 on the road. Amazingly they have yet to win at home in 9 attempts.

Fulham are on an awful run which sees them without a win in their last 8 getting 5 points through draws in this time. Last time out they were beaten 2-1 by Manchester United, a game where they were more competitive than many expected. Their last away game was also impressive, a 1-1 draw at Tottenham.

Brighton 11/10

Draw 12/5

Fulham 27/10

Suggested Bet: Fulham win at 27/10

Brighton have a poor home record and Fulham have showed me enough in their last 2 games to suggest they can grab the win here.

EVERTON v LEICESTER

Everton are 6th on the table with only 1 defeat and 4 victories in their last 5 matches. They beat Wolves 2-1 away last time out and their last home game was a disappointing 1-0 loss to West Ham.

Leicester are 3rd on the table, 6 points above Everton, but Everton have played 2 games less. Leicester’s recent run has been impressive and they are undefeated in their last 6 and have won their last 3 games, most recently 2-0 wins over Chelsea and Southampton. Their last away game was a 2-1 win over Newcastle.

Everton 18/10

Draw 47/20

Leicester 16/10

Suggested Bet: Total goals aggregate 2-3 goals at 9/10

This is a fairly common result in both of these teams matches this season and would also have arrived in 6 of the last 7 head-to-head’s in the League.

MANCHESTER UNITED v SHEFFIELD UNITED

Manchester United are top of the log at the time of writing, although they would likely be displaced by Manchester City before this game kicks off. They have won 4 and drawn 1 of their last 5 matches and that draw came on the road against Liverpool. Manchester United battled at home at the start of the season, but have won 4 games out of 9, those 4 wins coming in their last 5 home starts.

Sheffield United are bottom of the table with just 1 win in 19 starts that came in their penultimate start at home to Newcastle. Last time out they lost 3-1 at home to Tottenham and on the road this season they have only taken 1 point from a possible 27 conceding over 4 goals for every 1 scored.

Manchester United 3/10

Draw 19/4

Sheffield United 19/2

Suggested Bet: Handicap, Manchester United (-1) at 8/10

For this bet to arrive, United must win by more than a goal and I am quite confident about this given their recent form and the fact that Sheffield United have got such a bad record on the road.

United won this fixture 3-0 last season.
