BettingDiaryFormula 1 returns after a short break with the Belgian Grand Prix taking place at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps this weekend and we take a look at the race from a betting angle.

Lewis Hamilton was runner-up behind surprise winner Esteban Ocon in Hungary and having won the British Grand Prix in his previous start he regained the lead in the Championship on 195 points with Max Verstappen 8 points behind on 187. Hamilton has now moved back into the favourite position as far as the Championship betting goes trading at 8/11 with Max Verstappen available at 1/1.

Just wrapping up what happened in the Hungarian Grand Prix, Vettel actually crossed the line 2nd, but was disqualified due to fuel regulations.

Hamilton has a good record in the Belgian Grand Prix winning 3 of the last 6 years and four times since 2010. Last season he was chased home by teammate, Valtteri Bottas with Max Verstappen finishing 3rd in his Red Bull Racing Honda.

Lewis Hamilton 12/10

Max Verstappen 12/10

Sergio Perez 14/1

Valtteri Bottas 25/1

Lando Norris 35/1

50/1 and better the balance

Suggested Bet: Lewis Hamilton win at 12/10

The bookies are pricing this as a match race between the pair and it is hard to separate them. Hamilton has done well in Belgium previously, but hasn’t dominated this track as he has at some others and Verstappen will be keen to get his Championship campaign back on track after a crash in Great Britain and a disappointing 9th place finish in Hungary.

This bet comes with a Money Back for 2nd place in Free Bets Guarantee so whichever of the pair you pick, World Sports Betting is the correct place to back them. I am going for Hamilton as he has the momentum and that ruthless instinct to win at all costs.

Additional Bet: Points Finish Sebastian Vettel, YES, at 1/1

Vettel has shown me some promising signs in patches this season and he looked good in Hungary so is hopefully ready to compete on a more regular basis.
