BettingDiaryThe Circuit Paul Ricard in the South of France plays host to this week’s F1 GP and for the first time in years we have a Title race that is well and truly on.

You could have got massive odds on neither Verstappen nor Hamilton scoring points in the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, but that is exactly what happened with Red Bull Racing-Honda Sergio Perez taking the chequered flag for first place ahead of a resurgent Sebastian Vettel who we had backed for a points finish. Pierre Gasly in his Alpha Tauri-Honda finished third with Charles Leclerc, who qualified on pole, finishing 4th.

Hamilton and Verstappen are still dominating the Championship though with Verstappen on 105 points, 4 clear of Hamilton and Perez is a full 32 points behind the Brit. Hamilton is currently an 8/11 favourite to take the Title with Verstappen even money.

Since the French Grand Prix returned to the calendar in 2018 Lewis Hamilton has won both runnings with the 2020 Grand Prix not taking place.

The Paul Ricard track does not lend itself to overtaking and we can expect a heated battle to see which drivers are going to get onto the front row of the grid.

Lewis Hamilton 11/10

Max Verstappen 2/1

Valtteri Bottas 17/2

Sergio Perez 10/1

Lando Norris 33/1

Charles Leclerc 33/1

66/1 and better the balance

Suggested Bet: Max Verstappen win at 2/1

I really don’t think there is much between Verstappen and Hamilton at the moment and the 2/1 looks decent value especially given money back for 2nd place promo at World Sports Betting – see banner below.

The Azerbaijan Grand Prix by the way was the first time that neither Hamilton nor Verstappen have stood on the top step of the podium this season.

Additional Bet: Charles Leclerc, Pole Position at PRICE TO FOLLOW

At the time of writing there was no Pole Position betting up and I will wait to see how things are going in the early practises, but I think that Ferrari could take an aggressive strategy in qualifying with a view to trying to get out in front and hold off the challenges for as long as possible.
