BettingDiaryHaving beaten the Sharks in Durban last week the Bulls secured top spot on the table and travel to Treviso in Italy to take on Benetton who topped the Northern section of the Rainbow Cup log.

Let’s start with a look at the weather and conditions are expected to be good in Treviso on Saturday so with some luck we could be in for an entertaining match.

Benetton booked their place in this Final courtesy of a called off game against the Ospreys due to COVID. They were awarded the points and that saw them top the Northern section of the log. To their credit though they had won their 4 matches, at home to the Warriors, away and at home to fellow Italians, Zebre and at home to Connacht. The 46-19 win over the Warriors was particularly impressive and a sign of how dangerous the side can be at home.

The Bulls have dominated the local game since play resumed late last year, winning Super Rugby Unlocked, the Currie Cup and now the Rainbow Cup SA Titles.

They were impressive last week against the Sharks winning 34-22, but the Springboks are not available due to the upcoming Lions Tour. The Bulls only defeat in the Rainbow Cup SA came away to the Lions and their two most convincing performances were against the Sharks, who up until the final week were their biggest challengers.

Marcell Coetzee will captain the Bulls side and looking at the squad there is plenty of talent although their depth will be certainly be tested.

These sides have never met in a competitive match.

Benetton 7/2

Draw 33/1

Bulls 1/4

Handicap: Benetton (+7.5) at 9/10, Bulls (-7.5) at 9/10

Suggested Bet: Handicap Bulls -7.5 at 9/10

This handicap has moved from an opening call of -13.5 Bulls and while I agree that that handicap was big given Bulls did not have their Boks I think they have enough in the squad to win this game by 8 points or more.
