Spanish GP 2023

At last year’s GP, Verstappen dominated, grabbing the pole position, going on to win the race as well as getting the fastest lap. Lewis Hamilton had an impressive outing, finishing the race 2nd after qualifying 4th. Carlos Sainz qualified 2nd but had a poor race and finished 5th. George Russell grabbed the 3rd in a brilliant performance after qualifying 12th.

VERDICT

What seems to be a recurring pattern this season will most likely occur again this weekend. Max Verstappen will dominate the weekend and win the race unless an unforeseen mistake happens. However, it must be taken into account that in two of the last three races, Lando Norris has pushed Verstappen to work harder than usual for his wins so perhaps the tide is turning.

Mercedes had a solid performance last week, with George Russell qualifying 1st and going on to finish 3rd while Lewis Hamilton finished 4th. At last years Spanish GP, Mercedes finished 2nd and 3rd come the end of the race. They will look to carry last weeks momentum into a track has suited their previous cars and hopefully will do likewise this year.

Suggested Bet: Mercedes both cars top 6 finish at 2.60.

Lando Norris has been on a hot run of form recently, finishing 2nd in 3 of his last 5 races. His other two results were a 4th place finish at Monaco and his maiden win in Miami. If Norris continues this run of form, he may be able to separate himself from the rest of the drivers in the field, apart from Verstappen of course.

Suggested Bet: Lando Norris to finish 2nd at 2.80.
