FRIDAY

Blues v Brumbies – Click here to bet

The Blues went into the final round of matches at the top of the table, but because they secured one fewer bonus point than the Hurricanes, they finished second. They won 12 of their 14 matches in the group stages and then went on to beat Fijian Drua 36-5 at home in the quarter-finals last weekend. The Blues have won 4 of their last 5 matches, which include wins over the Hurricanes and the Chiefs.

The Brumbies have continued their impressive run of form, winning their last 6 matches in a row. They finished the group stages 3rd after winning 12 of their 14 matches and went on to beat the Highlanders 32-16 at home in the quarter-finals last weekend.

The Blues hosted the group stage fixture between the two sides in April and came out on top, winning the match 46-7.

The Blues are favourites to win the match and are trading at 1.20, while the Brumbies are trading at 5.50. The handicap at the time of writing is Brumbies [+11.5] at 1.91.

Although the Blues put in a dominant performance in the group stages against the Brumbies, the seriousness of the occasion as well as the recent run of the Brumbies should make this a much tighter fixture.

Suggested Bet: Handicap, Brumbies [+11.5] at 1.91.

SATURDAY

Hurricanes v Chiefs – Click here to bet

The Hurricanes finished top of the table after winning twelve of their 14 matches and then went on to beat the Rebels 47-20 at home in the quarter-finals. They have won their last 4 matches in a row and have won both of their last 2 matches by 27 points.

The Chiefs, who made the Super Rugby finals last year but lost out to the Crusaders, finished 4th on the table after winning 9 of their 14 matches. They hosted the Reds in the quarter-finals and won the match convincingly, with the score ending 43-21.

The Hurricanes travelled to play the Chiefs in the group stage fixture between the two sides. It was a close encounter, with the match ending 17-20 in favour of the Hurricanes.

The Hurricanes are favourites to win the match and are trading at 1.60, while the Chiefs are trading at 2.60. The handicap at the time of writing is Hurricanes [-3.5] at 1.90.

In what is expected to be a close encounter, I can see the Hurricanes being too strong for the Chiefs. Their momentum from their last two fixtures, as well as their home ground advantage, should see them to win the match by more than 3.5 points

Suggested Bet: Handicap, Hurricanes [-3.5] at 1.90.
