Anticipation is building for the Rugby World Cup Quarter-Finals, but we still have Friday to get through and we take a look at some of the sporting and horse racing highlights in our daily diary
FOOTBALL
It is Telkom Knockout weekend and on Friday night we have Maritzburg United at home to Wits with the home side 19/10, the draw at 18/10 and Wits on offer at 7/4.
Typical of South African Cup matches under 2.5 goals is trading very short at 4/10 with over 2.5 goals at 33/20 and you can get 12/10 that both the teams find the back of the net. We like a speculative play on the correct score finishing 1-1 after 90 minutes at 5/1.

RUGBY
While we have to wait until Saturday for the World Cup action there is a Mitre10 Cup match on Friday morning with Bay of Plenty hosting Manawatu in a semi-final.
Bay of Plenty are massive favourites here at 1/12 with Manawatu on offer at 10/1 and Bay of Plenty are (-21.5) points on the handicap.

The English Premiership also swings into action on Friday night with a televised match between Bristol and Bath.
These games where Rugby World Cup stars are not available are often tricky to call and the home team are (-6.5) favourites at 9/10.

Nothing on the Rugby World Cup for us today, but look out for our Weekend Betting Diary when we suggest a couple of bets and also keep an eye on our Blog and in particular our World Cup Rugby Section
GOLF
The PGA and European events are under way and both of them offer in-running options.

HORSE RACING
Local horse racing takes place at the Fairview Polytrack on Friday with an 8 race card heading off at 12:35 and scheduled to finish at 16:45.
As usual we have cast our eye over the card to see if we can find either a Pick Six Banker or a Value Bet and there are some fairly short priced runners early on the card. To us Madame Speaker, Horse No. 1 in Race number 6 stands out as a possible banker at a current price of 15/10 and the one to most likely challenge will be No. 4 March Music just slightly longer in the betting at 18/10.
There are fairly large fields so if you can catch a result in one or two of the legs it will certainly be a nice Pick Six dividend.

MOTOGP
A quick look ahead to Sunday’s Japanese MotoGP where Marc Marquez is not surprisingly an odds on favourite at 8/10 ahead of Dovizioso at 15/4.
Betting is likely to change as the qualification rounds continue and also look out for a host of Exotic Markets such as fastest lap and how many riders to finish closer to race time.
