Sri Lanka host South Africa in the 3rd and final T20 on Tuesday and while there may be little interest in this one from a series result perspective there is of course the opportunity to bet on the game and when bets are down there is no such thing as a dead rubber.
South Africa have won both T20’s that have been played here in Colombo with a fair degree of comfort and none more so than the 2nd T20 where Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat first.
They were going along okay at 38 for 1 in the 5th over and Perera managed 30 runs at a strike rate of 120 at the top of the order. He got some support from Rajapaksa with 20 at a strike rate of over 150, but from there they collapsed been bowled out for 103 in the 19th over and our Top South African bowler pick, Shamsi did the business taking 3 for 20 in his 4 overs, although special mention must be made of Markram with 3 for 21 in his 4. Interestingly enough it was only Rabada that took some tap going for 29 runs in his 2 overs without getting a wicket.
South Africa chased down the runs in the 15th over with just 1 wicket having fallen. Quinton de Kock was not out on 58 at a strike rate of 120 and Aiden Markram helped him see it home with an unbeaten 21 with just more than a run a ball. Wanindu Hasaranga de Silva was the pick of the Sri Lanka bowlers with 1 for 22 off his 4 overs.

Sri Lanka 29/20
South Africa 4/7
Suggested Bet: Sri Lanka win at 29/20
Beware the dead rubber.
With the series win South Africa may well make a few changes to the team and that could leave them vulnerable to the Sri Lankans who will be desperate for victory. As a general rule I don’t get too involved in games with nothing on the line so the small interest in Sri Lanka just shy of 15/10.
Suggested Bet: First Innings Score over 152.5 runs at 9/10
This would have arrived in the 1st T20, but fell well short in the 2nd and I am not sure we should be reading too much into that one.
While the spinners have proven tough to face, both teams have enough quality in their batting line-ups to get close to the 160 mark and deliver the win.
Suggested Bet: Top Away Bowler, Shamsi at 12/5
I am going to stick with Shamsi who delivers excellent bowling performances on each occasion, that doesn’t always equate to wickets, but he is in a rich vein of form and looks a worthy favourite in this market.
