BettingDiaryThe Wilmington Country Club in Delaware plays host to this week’s BMW Championship, the penultimate round of the FedExCup playoffs.

The course and for that matter the State has never hosted a PGA Tour event so we have absolutely no course form to go on. The South Course at the Wilmington Country Club is described as a tree lined parkland layout and there is water in play on a number of holes as well as plenty of bunkers around the greens. The tee boxes allow for the length of the course to be varied, but quite what the winning score will be this week is hard to predict.

Rory Mcilroy tops the betting boards at 12/1 with Jon Rahm 14/1 and a host of players priced at 16/1. South African, Christiaan Bezuidenhout is way down the betting boards at 140/1 to win and 28/1 for a Top 5 finish.

SELECTIONS:

Jon Rahm each way at 14/1

Rahm has been through a bit of a dry spell, but if last week’s 5th place is anything to go by he could be running into form at just the right time. His iron play was particularly impressive last week as was his scrambling around the greens.

Collin Morikawa each way at 25/1

Inconsistency is not something you normally associate with Morikawa, but he has been quite inconsistent of late and his 5th place finish last week came on the back of two missed cuts which had been preceded by another 5th place finish. He is the sort of man who rises to the big occasion and has the game to cope on just about any course. I am backing Collin to go all the way this week.

Russell Henley each way at 70/1

Henley disappointed as he was in my staking plan last week but missed the cut, prior to that he had been in good form with a Top 5 and a Top 10 finish. I am hoping last week was just a blip on the radar and he can bounce back to form in Delaware.

J.D. Poston each way at 100/1

Poston has been in consistent form and a few starts back had a runner-up finish and a victory and since then has gone missed cut 11, 21, 20 with his finishes so it is not going to take too much improvement with his game to contend and he is the sort of guy who can go low something which might be required on this course.
