BettingDiaryJack Nicklaus plays host to the Memorial Tournament taking place at Muirfield Village in Ohio and while it is taking place at the same venue as last week’s event, but punters should note that the course will be set up differently.

Muirfield Village is a par 72 layout designed by Nicklaus and he has a habit of tweaking the course on a regular basis. The fairways are generous meaning length off the tee can be an advantage, but those who watched last week will see that the rough is going to be a lot thicker and the greens a lot faster than what we saw then.

A quality field takes to the first tee and the favourite is the super consistent Bryson Dechambeau who is also coming off a victory in his last start, he is priced at 11/1 just ahead of Justin Thomas, who lost in a playoff last week, at 12/1 and Rory Mcilroy will be hoping a little bit of a break has done him good and he is priced at 13/1 with last year’s winner Patrick Cantlay 15/1. Dustin Johnson is another who has won recently and he can be backed at 16/1 and you can get 22/1 and better the balance.

A couple of other notable names in the field are Brooks Koepka at 30/1 and Tiger Woods, who makes his first appearance since the break, at 28/1.

Selections

Bryson DeChambeau each way at 11/1

DeChambeau’s form has been incredibly consistent and he has reeled off 7 successive Top 10 finishes including a victory in his last start. There were those, myself included, that were starting to question his ability to get over the line and although he was in a weaker field than what he faces here his price is almost double as what it was then and I am happy to have him on side this week

Patrick Cantlay Top 10 finish at 16/10 – Click Here for Top 10 Betting

Although he is the defending Champion, Cantlay is not a man who wins that often. He loves the course though and counting last weeks event has 3 successive Top 10’s including 2 Top 5’s in the Memorial in 2018 and 2019 so the 16/10 looks good value.

Hideki Matsuyama each way at 28/1

Matsuyama loves the course and I would not worry too much about his 22nd place last week as I got the feeling that he was tuning up for this event. He has 3 Top 10 finishes in his last 6 starts.

Kevin Streelman each way at 70/1

We backed Streelman at a similar price last week and he just failed to deliver place money for us finishing in a tie for 7th. He has now strung together some good recent form to go with his excellent course form where he has 3 Top 10’s and a Top 15 finish in his last 5 outings at Muirfield Village.
