We take a look at 5 of the Europa League matches taking place on Thursday and suggest a bet in each game.
Liverpool are 11/4 favourites to win the UEFA Europa League and you can click here for the latest Outright Betting.
TOULOUSE v LIVERPOOL – Click here to bet
Liverpool top Group E with a maximum 9 points from their opening 3 games. They now visit Toulouse who sit 3rd on the table with 4 points from their first 3 games.
These sides met in Matchday 3 with Liverpool winning 5-1 at home and Toulouse’s only other home game in this competition was a 1-0 victory over LASK in Matchday 2.
Liverpool would be looking to bounce back from a disappointing result in the EPL on the weekend and I am backing them on a comfortable victory here.
Suggested Bet: Handicap, Liverpool -1.5 goals at 23/20
AJAX v BRIGHTON – Click here to bet
Ajax are currently bottom of Group D with just 2 points from their opening 3 matches. They face Brighton who sit in 3rd on the log, 2 points above them and level with AEK Athens who are 2nd on goal difference.
Ajax lost to Brighton 2-0 on the road last time out, prior to that they drew away at Athens and at home to Marseille.
Brighton’s win over Ajax was their first of the campaign having drawn away at Marseille and lost at home to AEK Athens, an 11/1 shock upset on the night.
Bookies seem to have written off Ajax here and they are 16/5 for the win. I tend to agree and will back Brighton for the 3 points.
Suggested Bet: Brighton win at 15/20
SLAVIA PRAGUE v AS ROMA – Click here to bet
Slavia Prague are currently 2nd in Group G, 3 points behind Roma who have a maximum 9 points from their opening 3 games.
These sides met in Matchday 3 with Roma winning 2-0 at home and Slavia Prague play only their second home game having beaten Sheriff Tiraspol 6-0 in their first one while AS Roma’s only away game was a 2-1 victory over Sheriff Tiraspol.
Slavia Prague are 2/1 for the win with the draw 23/10 and Roma 29/20. Although Prague are capable of pushing them, I think that Roma will be too strong here and will keep their 100% record.
Suggested Bet: Roma win at 29/20
WEST HAM v OLYMPIACOS – Click here to bet
West Ham are currently top of Group A on 6 points out of a possible 9 while Olympiacos sit in 3rd position on 4 points from their opening 3 matches.
The sides met in Matchday 3 with Olympiacos beating West Ham 2-1 at home, a game where they started 17/10 for the victory. West Ham’s only home game was a 3-1 win over TSC while Olympiacos away game was a 2-2 draw against the same opposition.
West Ham are 7/10 for the win here and they are certainly struggling for form, losing 4 of their last 5 games in all competitions. I think they will get up for the win, but only just.
Suggested Bet: Handicap, West Ham -1 goal, the draw at 3/1
AEK ATHENS v MARSEILLE – Click here to bet
This is a Group B clash and Marseilles currently top the group on 5 points ahead of AEK Athens on 4. Brighton are also on 4 points with Ajax not out of contention on 2 at the bottom of the table.
Marseilles beat AEK Athens 3-1 at home last time out, a game where they started 7/10 favourites. They had previously drawn both their matches and all 3 of their games have had 4 goals or more in them.
AEK Athens have also had fairly high scoring games with two of their matches reaching the 4 goal mark and both teams have scored in all 3 of each teams fixtures.
Both teams to score, yes, is priced at 13/20 so I am going to turn my attention to the goals markets and I am going over 3.5 goals at 19/10.
Suggested Bet: Over 3.5 goals at 19/10
