BrentfordSix English Premier League matches take place on Saturday 26th August and our focus is on Bournemouth v Spurs, Arsenal v Fulham and Brentford v Crystal Palace

Bournemouth 2.63/1 Draw 2.85/1 Spurs 19/20

Bournemouth went down 3-1 away to Liverpool last weekend, taking a very early lead through Semenyo but they were 2-1 down by half time and although Liverpool were reduced to 10 men Bournemouth conceded a third just past the hour mark. Bournemouth started with a 1-1 draw at home to West Ham. The first half failed to produce a goal, Bournemouth fell behind just after the break before Solanke rescued a point for new coach Andoni Iraola.

Ange Postecoglou has made a good start to the season with Spurs. They fully deserved a 2-0 home win over Manchester United last weekend, opening the scoring through Sarr just after the break and an own goal sealed the points. Spurs started with a trip to Brentford which ended in a 2-2 draw. All the goals were scored in the first half with Spurs taking an early lead through Romero before Brentford scored twice and Emerson Royal equalized.

Both of last season's head to heads ended 3-2 to whichever side was playing away from home.

The Verdict:

I enjoyed watching Spurs last week and whilst Bournemouth might be under rated by many this season I think the momentum under Postecoglou can continue. Keeping it simple, Spurs on the board for me.

Arsenal 0.23/1 Draw 5.66/1 Fulham 10.56/1

Arsenal are 1 of 3 sides (Man City and Brighton) with the maximum of 6 points from the first 2 rounds of matches. On Monday of this week a second half penalty from Ødegaard gave them the lead away to Palace, Tomiyasu was harshly red carded on 67 minutes but they closed the game out for a 1-0 win. The Gunners began the season with a 2-1 home win over Forest. First half goals from Nketiah and Saka put them in charge, they lost new defender Timber to a season ending injury and held on after Forest pulled a goal back late on.

Fulham started with a 1-0 win at Everton, riding their luck to hold out for the win with De Cordova-Reid on target in the second half. Last weekend they were well beaten by Brentford in a home fixture, already a goal down when Tim Ream was red carded and they eventually lost 3-0.

The Verdict:

Arsenal have won 5 and drawn 1 of the last 6 EPL meetings since Fulham were promoted from the Championship and whilst they might not have fired on all cylinders so far, I see them having far too much for Fulham who look a weaker side than last season.

The Gunners to score 3 or more is my play and the anytime interest comes from Ødegaard who looks to have pulled rank in taking the spot kicks based on last week's evidence.

Bets: Home team totals over 2.5 at 17/20 with Playabets

Brentford 1.07/1 Draw 2.46/1 Palace 26/10

Brentford have scored 5 goals in taking 4 points from their first 2 matches. Yoane Wissa's opener and Bryan Mbeumo (twice) were the scorers in the 3-0 win at Fulham whilst an opening home game against Spurs ended 2-2 with Wissa and Mbeumo (penalty) earning a point.

Palace couldn't find a way past Arsenal on Monday night in that 1-0 defeat. They began with a 1-0 victory of their own away to newly promoted Sheffield United thanks to Édouard's goal early in the second half.

The Verdict:

For stats followers the last 4 head to heads have all ended in a draw, both were 0-0 in 21/22 and last season they twice finished up at 1-1. However my preference is to look for goalscorers, 1 from each side.

Wissa gets the vote to continue his scoring streak for the home side and Ill chance my arm with Eze to open his seasonal account for Palace.

Bets: Anytime goalscorer Wissa at 19/10 with Playabets

Anytime goalscorer Eze at 3/1 with Playabets
