Magic Tips Best Bets
Race 1: HINCKLEY (5)
Jockey: K de Melo – Trainer: D Kannemeyer
HINCKLEY showed massive improvement when finishing third over 1250m on this course last time. He was switched off near the rear of the field that day and the manner in which he finished off his race was eye-catching. The son of Ideal World looks progressive and will enjoy the extra distance on offer. Stable jockey Keagan de Melo retains the ride and the combination should find themselves in the winner’s enclosure.
Top Bet For Today
Race 2: BEREAVE (1)
Jockey: R Fourie – Trainer: J Snaith
A small field of five runners line up for this contest and BEREAVE is the best bet on the card. He is lightly raced with good form to his credit. He found plenty of betting support when finishing second in his last outing over 1400m on this course. The 11-week break would have done the son of Vercingetorix the world of good and with Aldo Domeyer in the saddle, he should return to winning ways.
Race 3: MAGNA MATER (3)
Jockey: L Mxothwa – Trainer: P Kruyer
MAGNA MATER produced a very good comeback run when finishing second over 1250m on this course. She raced from just off the pace before being outrun in the latter stages. The daughter of William Longsword will love the step up to the mile. She gets the cheekpieces fitted for the first time which should keep her mind on the task at hand. Luyolo Mxothwa takes the ride and she should be hard to beat.
Race 5: LILLYBELLE (3)
Jockey: A Domeyer – Trainer: W Nel
LILLYBELLE followed up her debut victory with an encouraging third-place finish over this C&D. The daughter of Querari settled near the rear of the field and finished her race off well. She takes a drop in class today and faces males. She looks to have ability and with Aldo Domeyer in the saddle, she can return to winning ways.
Value Bet For Today
Race 7: VENI VIDI VICCI (5)
Jockey: L Mxothwa – Trainer: B Crawford
VENI VIDI VICCI’S last start over 1400m was fair. His penultimate run when finishing second over 1600m at Kenilworth catches the eye. The son of Twice Over is bred to enjoy the 1800m and he should be cherry-ripe. If putting his best foot forward, he should return to winning ways in this small field.
