Race 1

JP’S PALACE produced a decent debut effort over this distance at Hollywoodbets Greyville. He stayed on at the finish that day and the Jockey had difficulty pulling him up after the race. The son of Potala Palace would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, he may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

VIHAAN’S WEB found one too good in the form of Luhamba Phambili last time. He would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

RICH FOLKS HOAX showed good improvement when fourth over 1400m last time. He returns from a 15-week break, during which time he was gelded. If jumping on terms, it would not be a shock to see him involved at the finish.

Race 2

THE GHOST produced some good form lines before given a 16-week break. She would have strengthened up during her time off the track. The daughter of Danon Platina meets the right field and if not in need of the run, she should be the one to beat.

PANTHERA UNCIA raced from just off the pace over this C&D last time, but found one too good in the form of Querari Rose. Muzi Yeni is booked to ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her where it matters most.

FLYING REIGN STORM’S last two starts have been fair. Her best form has been under Serino Moodley and in this line-up, she should earn another cheque for her patrons.

Race 3

MY ONE AND ONLY produced a promising debut effort over this C&D. She showed good pace before getting outrun late. The daughter of Act Of War would have gained from the experience. S’manga Khumalo steps into the saddle and with the natural improvement that is expected, she should be the one to beat.

WOZA NAWE is better than her last start over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Greyville. Her first two efforts over this distance were encouraging. She would have strengthened up during her time off the track and if fit, she should pose a massive threat.

BAO LA ran a fair race over 1400m last time. She returns from a 17-week break which may have done her the world of good. In this field, the daughter of Erupt can improve to finish in the placings.

Race 4

ACTOR should have finished closer to the winner over 1400m last time as he was baulked at the 150m mark. The manner in which he finished off his race that day suggests that he will love the rise to the mile. The son of New Predator jumps from pole position and with a bit of luck in running, he can improve to win a race of this nature.

ALWAYS SHINING has been costly to follow in recent outings. He has finished second in his last three starts. With a bit of luck from his awkward draw of eight, he may be rewarded for consistency.

CARNIVAL PARK’S last two starts have been fair. He should have finished closer last time as he hung outwards in the final 250m. The son of Soqrat is a progressive type and if keeping on a straight line, he should be competitive.

Race 5

PROFESSOR LUPIN finished 1 length behind MASK ON last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish. If repeating that effort in this field, he can return to winning ways.

MASK ON has good recent form lines to his credit. He stayed on when third over this distance at Hollywoodbets Greyville last time. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

MASTERBLING is a winner of his last two starts, the latest of which was over 1200m on the polytrack. The 5yo gelding takes on stronger, but he is in a good space and can bring up the hat-trick.

Race 6

FIELD MARSHAL finished 0.95 lengths behind TOBACCONIST last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The son of Lancaster Bomber carries a handy galloping weight of 54.5kgs and will be mowing down the frontrunners.

TOBACCONIST is a winner of his last two starts, the latest of which was over 2000m at Hollywoodbets Greyville. He received a four-pound penalty for his last victory. He is in a good space and can notch up the hat- trick.

SELUKWE has good recent form lines to his credit. He has cracked a good draw of four and if not too far out of his ground turning for home, he should be competitive.

Race 7

GLADATORIAN was not beaten far in the Grade 1 Mercury Sprint last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He won his only attempt on this course. The son of Vercingetorix is the class horse in this contest and from his good draw of three, he should notch up his seventh career victory.

CAPE EAGLE won a good race in the Grade 3 SplashOut 2200 last time. He has won three times and finished second three times from as many starts on this course. This outing should bring him on for future races but he has the class to fight out the finish.

NARINA TROGON won a good race in the Listed Compendium Insurance Brokers Thukela Handicap last time. He returns from a well-deserved 10-week break. From his good draw of two, he merits healthy respect.

Race 8

NO FILTER was an easy winner of her last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Greyville. She showed good pace that day and drew off in the run down to the line. She returns from a 13-week break which would have done her the world of good. The daughter of Canford Cliffs is the stable elect with S’manga Khumalo in the saddle and if fit, she can follow up.

SHIPHOLIA rallied late when second over this C&D, against male company last time. If this run has not come too soon, she should pose a threat.

CAPTAIN’S CHRISTY was in need of her comeback run over this C&D last time. On her previous form, she would not be a shock winner
