Kaizer Chiefs 9/10 Draw 2.15/1 Supersport 33/10 (Tuesday)
Chiefs were 3-0 winners at home to Chippa in the Nedbank Cup at the weekend. Their league form is still inconsistent but they did come away from Stellenbosch with a more than useful 1-0 win in their most recent Betway Premiership outing and they are currently in sixth position.
Supersport also made progress in the Nedbank Cup with a 2-1 home win over Cape Town Spurs. They have taken just 2 points from their last 6 Betway Premiership matches and their tally of 17 points from as many games is 8 fewer than their opponents here.
The Verdict
Chiefs beat Supersport 4-0 in the Carling Knockout in October but then lost the first league meeting this season 1-0 later in the same month. That sums up how hard this league can be at times and after much consideration and looking at the stats of Chiefs league games, when Amakhosi do win it tends to be by the minimum margin.
Bet: Winning margin, Chiefs by 1 goal exactly at 27/10 with Betway
TS Galaxy 2.05/1 Draw 2.05/1 Stellenbosch 1.43/1 (Tuesday)
Galaxy came unstuck in the Nedbank with a 2-1 defeat away to Durban City but their league from is excellent. They became only the second side to beat Sundowns this season with a 1-0 home win last week and they are on an 12 match unbeaten run in the Betway Premiership (6 wins, 6 draws), good enough for fourth position.
Stellies saw off Polokwane 2-0 in a Nedbank Cup home tie and return to league action in mid table but they do have 3 games in hand on most other sides above them in the standings. Their away record in the league is pretty useful, 3 wins, 3 draws and just the 1 defeat.
The Verdict
Galaxy are on a roll in the league and having beaten Sundowns last week they will fear nobody. Stellies are more than useful on their day however, I see this being tight and make the draw a big runner.
Bet: Match result draw at 2.05/1 with Betway
Golden Arrows 52/10 Draw 27/10 Orlando Pirates 11/20 (Wednesday)
Arrows had the weekend off and return to league action with a record of 5 wins, 5 draws and 5 defeats. They have won just twice at home this season, drawing 3 and losing 2 and goals have been fairly scarce, 6 scored and 5 conceded in KZN.
Pirates saw off Baroka 3-1 in the Nedbank at the weekend and now resume their chase of Sundowns who they lost to 4-1 in their most recent league game. That was only a third defeat in 14 league games, 11 others have been won and they have yet to finish all square. Pirates come into this game 9 points behind Sundowns in the title race but they do have 2 games in hand.
The Verdict
Arrows have drawn 4 of their last 6 in the league and Pirates may have to work hard to grind out a narrow win.
Bet: Winning margin, Pirates by 1 goal exactly at 2.45/1 with Betway
Marumo Gallants 81/10 Draw 42/10 Mamelodi Sundowns 0.38/1 (Wednesday)
Gallants are third bottom on the log with 15 points from 16 matches. They did beat Amazulu in the cup, 1-0 in a home tie, at the weekend and 3 of their 4 league wins this season have arrived in front of their own supporters.
Downs completed a 2-0 home win over Mpheni in the cup on Sunday and now bid to return to the winners enclosure in the league. They went down 1-0 away to TS Galaxy last week, only their second defeat of the season (alongside 14 wins) and as mentioned earlier they are 9 points clear of Pirates at the top of the log but they have played 2 games more than the Bucs.
The Verdict
I take the view Downs will still be smarting from a rare defeat last week and I'm with a Sundowns win in a game of 3 goals or more in total.
Bet: 1X2 and Overs/Unders, Sundowns win and over 2.5 total match goals at 1.32/1
