BRISTOL BEARS v LEINSTER

Posted 8 Dec 12h53

This handicap has been stable at Bristol +9.5 all week but it is the total points line that interests me. It looks like the rain will stay away but high winds are forecast and with a Leinster team that prides itself on defence I think under 55.5 is the play here.

BET: 4 units under 55.5 points at 87/100 at Pokerbet

TOULOUSE v ULSTER

Posted 8 Dec 12h33

This handicap has gone from -22.5 to -26.5 Toulouse.

Ulster have named a changed side with a strong bench which seems strange as the hosts will likely be out of touch by the time they come on.

The points line is 53.5 and although there is rain about I am looking to get on Toulouse for a fast start.

There is some 10/11 they score 3 tries or more before the break and I am all over that.

BET: 5 units Toulouse over 2.5 1st half tries at 10/11 at WSB

OSPREYS v LIONS

Posted 8 Dec 12h15

This match has been moved to Parc y Scarlets a hybrid pitch due to storm damage at Ospreys ground.

The Ospreys are -5.5 at most books and the Lions have made a few changes but still field a decent side.

I like over 44.5 here as the sureface should be good and it looks a mild and clear day.

BET: 4 units over 44.5 points at 9/10 at WSB

BORDEAUX v LEICESTER

Posted 8 Dec 12h05

The handicap for this game opened Bordeaux -15.5 and is currently at the -18.5, 19.5 mark.

Leicester have rotated but they don't put out a bad team and I have no firm views on the handicap.

The points line is 47.5 and in what looks like being cool but mild conditions I think overs is the play.

BET: 3 units Over 47.5 points at 10/11 at Boylesports

CHEETAHS v PERPIGNAN

Posted 8 Dec 11h35

The Cheetahs are -6.5 for this "home" game in Amsterdam. I have no feel for the handicap but if pushed would suggest that a Perpignan side with Top 14 action in their bodies could win this if they put their minds to it. They are towards the foot of the Top 14 table though and the focus may be on the league.

It looks as though the rain will lift for this match which takes place on an artifical surface however humidity levels are high and I suspect we will get a scrappy game.

Under 49.5 is the call.

BET: Under 49.5 at 1.02/1 at Betxchange

RACING 92 v HARLEQUINS

Posted 7 Dec 10h28

This line opened Racing -6.5 and is in to -4.5.

The points line is 44.5 and “Pablo” in the forum reckons it should be closer to 40 with poor weather and a poor pitch.

That is good enough for me.

BET: 3 units under 44.5 points at 1/1 at Betxchange

GLASGOW V SALE

Posted 7 Dec 10h22

This handicap has been stable all week at around -9.5 Glasgow.

The points line is 46.5 and while the game will be played on artificial turf the weather doesn’t look great and there is some wind about.

I like this Glasgow team and will keep this simple going for a home win by 10 or more.

BET: 3 units Glasgow -9.5 at 9/10 at HollywoodBets*

MUNSTER V STADE FRANCAIS

Posted 7 dec 09h58

There was a big handicap shift from -12.5 to -17.5 Munster on the back of Stade Francais team news.

I am undecided at that level and am rather going to back Munster to keep the visitors to under 14 points.

The total points line is 44.5 and while conditions look clear there is some strong wind around.

BET: 2 units Stade Francais under 13.5 points at 9/10 at Pokerbet

NORTHAMPTON V CASTRES

Posted 7 dec 09h54

This handicap has gone from Northampton -15.5 to -17.5 so there has been support for the home team.

Conditions look like being poor and the points line is 44.5.

Northampton should win easily but rather than the handicap I am going to back them to keep Castres to under 2 converted tries.

BET: 2 units Castres under 13.5 points at 9/10 at Pokerbet

CLERMONT V BENETTON

Posted 7 dec 09h29

This handicap has come in to Benetton +10.5 from +12.5 after team announcements.

I have no strong feel on the handicap and will follow @harry_mcgeary on X for this one as he advises the weather diesn’t look great.

BET: 3 units under 47.5 points at 17/20 at Sportingbet*

BATH v LA ROCHELLE

Posted 06 Dec 00h22

This handicap has come in from -5.5 Bath to -3.5 at the time of writing. There should not be much between the sides but my guest on Thursdays nights THE HANDICAP felt that the La Rochelle bench were stronger and would win it for the visitors.

The weather doesn’t look great and the points line is currently 43.5 – keep an eye on the rugby forum for more.

BET:  2 units La Rochelle win at 33/20 at Betway*
