BettingDiaryWe take a look at some of Thursday’s sports betting highlights including the Absa Premiership clash between Wits and Leopards in our Daily Betting Diary.

FOOTBALL

There is a PSL match live on Thursday night with Bidvest Wits at home to Black Leopards.

Wits are currently sitting 5th on the table on 30 points, 15 points behind Kaizer Chiefs but with 4 games in hand. Leopards are 14th on the log just 1 position outside the relegation playoff and they broke a 7 game run without a victory last time out when they beat Stellenbosch 2-1 at home. They have the worst away record in the PSL though, taking 5 points from a possible 27.

Wits are not surprisingly firm favourites here at 4/10 with the draw 7/2 and Leopards on offer at 27/4. We fancy the home team to win by more than a goal and suggest a Wits (-1) handicap at 11/10.

The U19 World Cup continues with the 2nd semi-final between Bangladesh and New Zealand. Bangladesh are the 4/6 favourites with New Zealand priced at 5/4, but we do fancy the U19 New Zealand team to hit the most 6’s at a price of 23/20.

After a few days break the Big Bash League continues with the Melbourne Stars up against the Sydney Thunder in a qualifier with the winner going on to play in the final.

The Melbourne Stars are 15/20 and the Thunder are available at 11/10. There are a host of Exotic Markets available on the match.

GOLF

The European Tour sees the running of the ISPS Handa Vic Open and it is certainly one of the weakest fields we have seen in some time.

Brad Kennedy tops the betting board at 12/1 and you can get 14/1 and better the balance. One player we do fancy for a big week is Jason Scrivener currently priced at 16/1 for the win and 16/5 for a Top 5 finish

In America it is the AT & T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and Dustin Johnson tops the betting boards at 15/2 ahead of Patrick Cantlay 12/1 with Matt Kuchar and Jason Day both trading at 18/1 and 21/1 and better the balance.

Branden Grace is a man who has performed well around Pebble Beach and he would be our pick at 33/1 for the win and 66/10 for a place.

HORSE RACING

Local horse racing takes place at the Vaal Racetrack on Thursday with an 8 race card due off at 12:55 with the final leg of the Pick Six set to go off at 17:00.

It is an interestingly looking card with a number of fairly firm favourites, the shortest of which is Western Fort, Horse No. 1 in the 7th Race currently priced at 15/20. If you are going to overlook that one as your Pick Six banker then finding a race to put just 1 horse won’t be easy, but we do think that one of Rock You or Ocean Forest will win the last and they are currently priced at 23/20 and 16/10 respectively.
