BettingDiaryAfter a short break to accommodate the Internationals the English Premier League returns this weekend and we have 4 matches to look forward to on Saturday. We take look at each of them from a betting angle.

EVERTON v LIVERPOOL – Click here to bet

This Merseyside derby is a big clash no matter where on the table the teams sit, but this year is even juicier with Everton currently top of the table with 4 wins from 4 starts while champions Liverpool sit 3 points behind them in 5th having been rocked by Aston Villa, losing 7-2 away last time out.

Everton’s 2 home games have seen them beat Brighton 4-2 and West Brom 5-2 and Liverpool’s 2 away games have seen them have vastly different fortunes with a 2-0 win at Chelsea followed by that stunning 7-2 defeat at Villa.

This fixture finished goalless last season and Liverpool won at Anfield 5-2.

BETTING

Everton 28/10

Draw 3/1

Liverpool 9/10

Suggested Bet: Handicap, Everton (+1) at 9/10

This fixture has played out to a goalless draw the last 3 runnings and while the draw at 3/1 may offer some value I think Everton have got a realistic shout of winning this as well.

CHELSEA v SOUTHAMPTON – Click here to bet

Chelsea are 7th on the table and are coming off a 4-0 home win over Crystal Palace. Their other home game was a 2-0 defeat to Liverpool.

Southampton lost their opening 2 matches, but have won their next 2 to sit 11th on the table and their most recent away game was a 1-0 win at Burnley.

Southampton beat Chelsea 2-0 in this fixture last season and it has been 5 matches since the home side has won in a head-to-head clash with these sides in the EPL.

BETTING

Chelsea 5/10

Draw 37/10

Southampton 5/1

Suggested Bet: Handicap, Chelsea (-1) at 5/4

Chelsea have been a bit inconsistent so far this season, but I was impressed with them last time out and I think they can beat Southampton by more than a goal.

MANCHESTER CITY v ARSENAL – Click here to bet

This is another mouth-watering clash with City currently sitting 14th on the log, but having only played 3 games with a win, a loss and a draw. Their only home match was a 5-2 defeat to Leicester. Arsenal are 4th on the table with 3 wins and a loss, that loss coming at Liverpool 3-1.

City won both fixtures against Arsenal last season by 3-0 margins.

BETTING

Manchester City 9/20

Draw 17/4

Arsenal 11/2

Suggested Bet: Under 3.5 goals at 8/10

Although there are usually goals between the sides this bet would have arrived in 6 of the last 7 meetings in all competitions. I expect Arsenal to set up fairly defensively and I think this game could be tight or even goalless for long periods.

NEWCASTLE UNITED v MANCHESTER UNITED – Click here to bet

Newcastle have made a strong start to the season and they sit in 9th position having beaten Burnley 3-1 at home in their last start. Their other home match was a 3-0 loss to Brighton.

Manchester United are 16th on the table and played just 3 games, but having been hammered 6-1 at home by Tottenham last time out. Their only away game was a 3-2 win at Brighton.

Newcastle won this fixture 1-0 last season, but United did beat them 4-1 at Old Trafford.

BETTING

Newcastle United 79/20

Draw 63/20

Manchester United 7/10

Suggested Bet: Handicap, Newcastle (+1) at 12/10

I think the bookmakers have Manchester United too short for this one and am happy to back Newcastle to get something out of the game whether that be a win or a draw.
