This week’s PGA event is the CJ Cup taking place at The Shadow Creek Golf Course in Las Vegas, Nevada. We select 4 players to take on the field.
The Tournament has been running for 3 years and has previously been played at the Nine Bridges Golf Club in South Korea. However due to COVID-19 it is taking place in Las Vegas this year.
The Shadow Creek Golf Course is a par 72 layout that has recently been through renovations. Punters may remember it from the made for TV match between Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson back in 2018. We have no course form to go on and for that reason I will be looking to current form when it comes to finding a winner.
There is certainly a quality field taking to the first tee despite the late withdrawal of Dustin Johnson due to a positive COVID-19 test. Jon Rahm is now solo favourite at 9/1 at the time of writing with Justin Thomas 12/1 alongside Rory McIlroy. Xander Schauffele is 14/1 and you can get 20/1 and better the balance.
Past Winners
2019 – Justin Thomas -20
2018 – Brooks Koepka -21
2017 - Justin Thomas -9*

Suggested Bets:
Matthew Wolff each way at 20/1
Despite only being 78 players and no cut, World Sports Betting are still paying out Top 5 places this week. Wolff has being striking the ball brilliantly and he followed up his runner-up finish in the US Open with a runner-up finish last week where he stormed through the field over the weekend to get into contention. Wolff strikes me as a sort of player who can keep a run going and I think he can topple those above him on the betting boards
Matthew Fitzpatrick each way at 45/1
Fitzpatrick has been a picture of consistency over the last year and last week finished T7 at the BMW PGA Championship. The way he is striking the ball he should give himself plenty of early opportunities and he looks a lively runner.
Patrick Cantlay each way at 25/1
Cantlay backers had been disappointed when he failed to convert a 54 hole lead at the Shriners, dropping to finish down in T8. He is another player who tends to hold form well and I think he will be determined to make amends this week at a course that suits him.
Abraham Ancer each way at 66/1
Ancer has 2 Top 15 finishes in his last 3 starts including a Top 5 finish last week. His game seems to be building to a peak nicely and he is the final member of our staking plan to beat the bookies this weekend.
There are a host of other betting markets on offer including 72 hole matches and the winning margin where 1 stroke exactly is trading at 5/2.
