BettingDiarySuper Rugby Unlocked continues this weekend and we take a look at all 3 matches from a betting angle.

GRIQUAS v SHARKS

The Griquas are sitting bottom of the table with 4 defeats in their 4 matches. Last week they were at home to the Stormers losing 39-6 and their previous match on the road was a 30 point defeat to the Lions.

The Sharks are showing signs of coming to form although they count themselves fortunate that they beat the Cheetahs by 6 points last week as they had chances to put the game away early, but failed to take them. The week before the Sharks were on the road beating the Pumas 42-19 in Nelspruit.

The Sharks last 3 Currie Cup matches against the Griquas away have seen them win by 30, 18 and 25 points respectively.

Griquas 8/1

Draw 45/1

Sharks 1/12

Handicap: Griquas (+18.5) at 9/10, Sharks (-18.5) at 9/10

Suggested Bet: Handicap, Sharks (-18.5) at 9/10

The Sharks side appear to have hit form and Griquas looked out on their feet towards the end of the game against the Stormers.

LIONS v PUMAS (PLEASE NOTE - THIS GAME HAS BEEN CANCELLED)

The Lions looked likely to beat the Bulls at one point last week, but they failed to capitalize on a strong end to the first half and ended up losing by 5 points. Their previous home game was a 30 point victory over Griquas and they go into this game as big favourites.

The Pumas are coming off a bye and their last match they lost to the Sharks by 23 points at home although before that they had given the Stormers a run for their money losing 37-42 in Nelspruit.

Lions 1/14

Draw 50/1

Pumas 21/2

Handicap: Lions (-20.5) at 9/10, Pumas (+20.5) at 9/10

Suggested Bet: Handicap, Pumas (+20.5) at 9/10

I can see the Lions side winning comfortably, but they also tend to leak points and even if they get well clear I think the Pumas can come back with some consolation tries. Interestingly enough the Pumas have a good recent record against the Lions in Johannesburg losing by just 1 point in their last 2 matches.

STORMERS v CHEETAHS

The Stormers turned in their best performance of the season with a 33 point win over the Griquas last week while the Cheetahs would have been disappointed going down 19-13 to the Sharks in a humid Durban. The Cheetahs were a bit rusty for that game having had a bye the week before and prior to that having had their game against the Lions away called off due to the home team having too many COVID cases.

Stormers 9/20

Draw 28/1

Cheetahs 2/1

Handicap: Stormers (-5.5) at 9/10, Cheetahs (+5.5) at 9/10

Suggested Bet: Handicap, Stormers (-5.5) at 9/10

The Stormers finally looked to be gelling last week at the Griquas and while the Cheetahs are capable of pushing them I think the home team will win this by 6 or more on the back of a strong performance by their packs.
