BettingDiaryWe take a look at the first two Euro 2020 Quarter-Finals taking place on Friday and suggest a bet in each.

Let’s start with a look at the Outright Betting where there has been a big shake up after the round of 16 with favourites, France departing.

England are now priced at 2/1, Spain 3/1, Italy 4/1, you can get 7/1 Belgium and 11/1 and better the balance.

SWITZERLAND v SPAIN

This match takes place in St Petersburg.

Switzerland were 3-1 down against France deep into their last 16 match, but they somehow found a way to draw level at 3-3 and then proceeded to take the game on penalties.

Their group form certainly didn’t suggest that they would knock the Tournament favourites out and while they beat Turkey 3-1, they lost 3-0 to Italy and could only draw 1-1 with Wales.

Spain were involved in a similarly dramatic match in their last 16 game, but in this case it was their opponents, Croatia that came back from 3-1 down to level at 3-3. Spain did the job in extra time though winning 5-3 to progress to the last 8.

Spain started the Tournament slowly with draws against Sweden and Poland, but then stepped up against Slovakia winning 5-0.

Switzerland 19/4

Draw 57/20

Spain 13/20

Suggested Bet: Spain win at 13/20

There are plenty of markets which catch the eye here and I quite fancy both teams to score at 17/20, but I am going to keep it simple and go with a Spanish win at 13/20. Of the two sides I am thinking that Switzerland may be the more emotionally drained after their comeback victory and I don’t think Spain will be guilty of stepping off the gas again.

BELGIUM v ITALY

This clash of the heavy weights takes place in Munich on Friday night.

Belgium have a 100% record in the tournament, beating Portugal 1-0 in their last 16 game. They topped their group with victories over Finland, Denmark and Russia and have only conceded 1 goal in 4 matches while scoring 8.

Italy also topped their group with a 100% record with wins over Turkey, Switzerland and Wales scoring 7 goals without conceding. They were held to a goalless draw by Austria in their last 16 game, but kicked on in extra time to win 2-1.

Belgium 12/5

Draw 21/10

Italy 14/10

Suggested Bet: The draw at 21/10

Italy are slight favourites for the game, but I just cannot separate these sides. Both of them are capable of scoring great goals, but it is their defence that has really stood them in good stead in this Tournament and I think the draw is a big runner here.

Additional Bet: Correct Score 0-0 at 6/1

Italy and Austria cancelled each other in the last 16 clash and I wouldn’t be surprised to see something similar here.
