A really good week of racing ahead and we have a Monday meeting including a feature at Kenilworth, Winning Form preview  is available here

On Tuesday it's the Turffontein Champions Finals day that was postponed from Saturday, will have a look and post a few picks.

Scottsville on Wednesday includes a couple of features for the 2 year olds, then its back to Turffontein on Thursday and Fairview on Friday.

Saturday should be a cracker at Greyville including the Drill Hall, decs are not complete yet but looks like some big guns will be stepping out, its also the Guineas for boys and girls and the East Coast Cup.

Sunday is back to Kenilworth for a couple of Grade 3's and the Listed Ladies Mile

All this week's racing tips are most welcome here

Spent quite a while on Tuesday's card, like a few although not the sort of prices I usually look for, generally looking for horses with form with some cut in the ground

R5 Shoot The Rapids, owner, trainer jockey combo always worth including, hoping travel plans weren't inconvenienced by Saturday's postponement, yard knows how to raid Joburg.

R6  Olivia's Way, hopefully a reward for some fine efforts

R7 Field Marshall, same combo as R5, plenty of these closely matched on previous form at today's weights. Selection has plenty to do at the weights but very little between between him and Ultimate King whilst Choissinada up in trip and the top 2 a bit in and out form wise

R8 Places on Cosmic Speed, interesting way down in trip

R9 Almond Sea , record in wet stands out, Fourie booked also caught eye

R10 Vannakam, unless he picked up any spares Godden booked for 3 rides by this trainer, 2 big roughies who look up against it and this one which is well fancied

R11 Might be a touch sharp for Dark Silver but usually gives his all, form in wet, appy takes of 2.5kg, badly drawn but still an each way price

Geez thought Cosmic Speed was going to get you for you Chris. I’ve backed that one so many times and stable always said he has ability and I see Tarry pre race comment said CS will be a force over the 1600 features coming up.

lovely sort in the last from the yard. Rest of jocks were fast asleep but this horse looks ultra progressive.

Lovely racing yesterday. Agree with you Southpaw, Firestorm is one to follow and in my opinion will go extra ground as well. Reckon Buffalo Storm Cody could have got up had they kept the blinkers on?

On to today, not often that we get graded races on a weekday. A few short priced favorites today, Scottsville is known to have caught out many favorites in the past, so hoping to catch one somewhere on the card

Race 1 - Roskilde ran a close 2nd in a Gr3 over this distance and should win this by a few lengths but 7/20 is a very short price. Watch the betting on the first timers, especially Simonis who is a half brother to Spirit of Shimla.

Race 2 - Vibe Check is another with solid form but drawn wide and sees Scottsville for the first time today. One Pepper (22/10) has seen the track before when finishing in front of Riff Raff Boy. RRB came out and beat the likes of Bright Blue, Viking Leader (won) and Better Never Ends (Nursery Winner). Putthelightsout (16/1) is well-bred and ran a good 400F first time out when drawn wide. Stable comments that day were that the horse is promising and will be looking for ground. He must be a big runner based on how he ran on that day. E/W won't hurt.

Race 3 - Lady Nancy (13/20) has bumped a few good ones and the step up in trip should assist. Taking her on with Greek Heritage (2/1) who will appreciate the extra ground and has also seen the track before. She is the one with more scope in my opinion. "Marked as "one to follow" by the stable when making her debut.

Race 4 - Tomyris (7/2) loves Scottsville. 1500m doesn't seem to be her best trip, but she has a weight advantage over the favorite, Educator, as well as Forward Motion.

Race 5 - Taylor's Version (9/2) won her debut well and could follow up here. Reckon the handicapper hasn't fully caught her yet.

Race 6 - Querari Dancer (9/20) is the obvious one with Manne Fortune on. Lady Jean always honest but has some improvement to show if she wants to beat QD. If we are flying come this race, I might just have a tickle on Menagerie (11/1) who ran a good second when backed on debut. Another who has had the advantage of having seen the course. Will include with QD in P6.

Race 7 - Hail Mary on In The Red @ 50/1. Over raced last time out, ignoring that run. Appeared to have an issue then. Previous form not bad at all. Including in the P6 together with the top 2 in the betting.

Races 8 & 9 - Load up as much as you can.

Lets hope for a good day!

Could have done a lot worse than just follow Tarry yard on Tuesday South, really impressed with the 2yo filly Get Up, didn't see the last race winner but another one for the notebook

Wednesday Scottsville, thanks for your thoughts Jacques

R5 Shesha Ntombi at around 10/1 looks an each way play to me, has been running in stronger races, hasn't been this trip but ground out a win over 1500m, poor draw at 10 but a couple of scratchings soften that blow and 1.5 kg claimer up

The 2yo features more for watching than punting for me but would probably side with Master Magician (15/10) over the odds on fav in R7 given home ground advantage

R8 Quite a few down in class but Definitely Yes consistent in this grade and comes out well in the weight turnarounds against a few of these, would like a bigger price than the current 7/2 tbh as its competitive

R9 I like both the Plattner / Nel runners The Marquee 7/1 (on weight turnarounds) with de Melo up and Dricus 12/1 (record suggests not straight forward but has gone well for this jock)
