Weather Forecast - Johannesburg

Lions:

The Lions come into this round in seventh place with a record of 7 wins, 1 draw and 5 defeats and with 38 log points they are 3 shy of a top 4 spot.

Last week the Lions put Edinburgh away 54-17 to land a bonus point and easily justify market confidence which had seen them backed from -10,5 points to -13.5 pre-match.

Other recent home games delivered wins in derby matches against the Sharks (34-22) and the Stormers (24-10) which helped the Lons secure top spot in the South African Shield.

After this the Lions host log leaders Glasgow Warriors in Round 15 and then Connacht visit Ellis Park whilst in the final 2 rounds of the regular season they travel to Ireland for tough games at Leinster and Munster.

In the outright betting to win the URC title the Lions are 33/1 with Hollywoodbets

Dragons:

The Dragons are second from bottom with a record of 2 wins, 3 draws and 8 defeats and their total of 20 log points is 15 shy of a play off place.

The Dragons were given the best part of 30 points start for last week’s clash with the Stormers in Cape Town but they made their hosts work harder than expected for victory eventually going down 29-21, scoring 3 tries but conceding 4.

Other recent results include a 15-15 draw at home to Benetton at the end of February and a 19-13 defeat away to the Ospreys at the end of January.

One earlier match against South African opposition saw the Dragons draw a Round 2 home fixture against the Sharks 17-17. The Dragons will host the Bulls in Round 15.
