Sharks:
The Sharks are eleventh on the log with a record of 5 wins, 1 draw and 7 defeats for 29 log points, 6 shy of a top 8 play off spot.
They hosted Munster last week and they dished out a 45-0 hiding to the Irish side, making a mockery of the main handicap line which had the Sharks as single digit favourites. They scored 7 tries in what was one of their most convincing displays of the season.
Earlier matches against Irish opposition this season saw the Sharks lose at Leinster (31-5) in Round 3 and at home to Ulster (34-26) in Round 4 whilst in Round 6 they crashed to a 44-17 loss away to Connacht.
Later in April the Sharks will visit the Ospreys and Edinburgh and they end up with home fixtures against Benetton and Zebre. In the outright betting to win the URC title the Sharks are 20/1 with Hollywoodbets
Cardiff:
Cardiff are fifth on the log with a record of 8 wins and 5 defeats. They have 40 log points just 2 fewer than Ulster and 1 shy of Leinster whilst Munster on their heels 1 point behind.
Cardiff landed in South Africa last week and their first assignment saw them take on the Bulls at Loftus. They were given around 20 points start on the bookmakers main handicap line and that wasn’t anywhere near enough as they went down 40-7, conceding 6 tries and scoring 1.
Other recent results include an 8-7 home win over Leinster at the end of February and prior to that they went down 21-14 away to Ulster.
One earlier match against South African opposition saw Cardiff beat the Lions 33-20 in a Round 1 home fixture and they will host the Stormers in Round 18.
In the outright betting to win the URC title Cardiff are 150/1 shots with Hollywoodbets
