The São Paulo Grand Prix also known as the Brazilian Grand Prix takes place at the Autódromo José Carlos Pace on Sunday and we take a look at the race from a betting angle.
Championship Update
Max Verstappen took his 16th win of the season in Mexico last week despite only qualifying 3rd on the grid. Verstappen was chased home by race our pick, Lewis Hamilton (12/1) with Charles Leclerc completing the podium in his Ferrari. It was an awful day for the local man Sergio Perez, the teammate of Max Verstappen, who crashed out of the race and he now only leads Lewis Hamilton by 20 points in the race for second place.
World Sports betting have a market up for which rider will finish 2nd and here Perez is still trading as a 4/7 favourite, but Hamilton has shortened into 5/4 after showing some improved form in recent weeks. Hamilton was also the fastest lap in Mexico last week.
São Paulo Grand Prix
Last year’s São Paulo Grand Prix was won by George Russell ahead of teammate, Lewis Hamilton, Carlos Sainz Junior was 3rd in his Ferrari and Max Verstappen could only finish 6th having started on the front row of the grid, but behind surprise pole position, Kevin Magnussen.
Max Verstappen has won this Grand Prix back in 2019 and Lewis Hamilton has won this race three times with his last win coming in 2021.

Suggested Bet: Lewis Hamilton win at 17/2
Of course Max Verstappen is a massive favourite here, but I just can’t back him at odds of 1/3 as it is just not in my nature. Hamilton has been improving towards the back-end of the season and surely he can break his duck in one of the final races.
Suggested Bet: Daniel Ricciardo Top 6 Finish, YES, at 20/1
Ricciardo was impressive in Mexico qualifying in 4th and finishing in 7th and he is pushing hard to replace Perez in the second Red Bull seat next season and I can’t resist the 20/1 that he rides into the Top 6 here.
