Race 2
RHYDIAN produced a promising debut effort over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. The son of Rafeef understandably raced green but the manner in which he finished off his race was eye-catching. It must be noted that Talk To The Master and multiple other horses from the form line have come out and won since. The son of Rafeef looks to be a quality horse in the making and with the natural improvement that is expected, he may be the one to side with.
GREAT PLAINS won a good race when shedding his maiden tag at the second time of asking. The son of Danon Platina is a progressive type and from his good draw of four, he is one of the leading contenders.
MAKAZOLE won a good race when winning his maiden at the second time of asking. He returns from a 12-week break, during which time he would have strengthened up. If not in need of the run, he should give a good account of himself.
Race 3
ROTOTO produced a promising debut effort over this C&D. He lost a length leaving the start, but the manner in which he finished off his race was encouraging. The son of Danon Platina would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, he can go one better.
THE SPECIALIST has produced two decent efforts to date. He is a progressive type and if not too green around the turn, he may be the one to fill the exacta spot.
FUTURE FLO ran on well when second over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. He has finished third four times from five starts over this distance. With a bit of luck in running, he can earn another cheque for his patrons.
Race 4
POLICY OF TRUTH is having his first run for the Tienie Prinsloo stable. Despite over racing over 1400m last time, he stayed on to finish third. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. The son of Master Of My Fate tries the 2200m for the first time and if Richard Fourie is able to switch him off early, he can shed his maiden tag.
IRON MONGER was running on when third over 1800m last time. He is likely to be switched off near the rear of the field from the widest draw and he will be mowing down the frontrunners.
TRIP TO NEBRASKA ran a fair race over 2000m last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. He jumps from pole position and if getting away to a clean start, he should be right there at the finish.
Race 5
MASCHERINA moved up well in her last start over 1750m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville, but was outrun late by Celtic Beauty who has come out and won again since. She returns from a 12-week break, which may have done her the world of good. Richard Fourie is booked to ride and if not in need of the run, she should be the one to beat.
JAZZ CAFE followed up her maiden win with an equally impressive victory over 1400m on this course. It must be noted that the horse that finished third in her last outing has come out and won since. She will love the rise to the mile and can notch up the hat-trick.
KISSHOTEN ran on strongly when third in her last start over 1400m on this course. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. She should have no issues with the rise to the mile and she can go close.
Race 6
SAARTJIE is better than her last start in the Grade 1 City Of Cape Town Majorca Stakes. She returns from a 15-week break, which would have done her the world of good. The blinkers have been removed which is a positive. She is the class horse in the race and with luck in running, she can return to winning ways.
HOLD MY HAND was disappointing in her last start at Fairview. She has won once, finished second once and third once from six starts on this course. It is encouraging that Richard Fourie steps back into the saddle and on best form shown, she is one of the leading contenders.
LUCKY MISS ran on well when second in the Listed WSB Scarlet Lady last time. She tries the 2000m for the first time and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, she should be involved at the finish.
Race 7
ORIENTAL CHARM was not disgraced when third in the Grade 1 SplashOut Cape Derby last time. He set the pace that day and stayed on to finish third. The 11-week break would have done him the world of good. He jumps from a good draw of four and if fit, he can notch up his third-career victory.
WITHOUT QUESTION ran a good race when third in the Grade 1 WSB Cape Town Met last time. This run will bring him on for future races but he has the class to be competitive.
FUTURE SWING did not enjoy a slow pace in the Listed WSB Sledgehammer last time. He would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. He jumps from a good draw of three and with his handy galloping mass of 54kgs, he can feature.
Race 8
THE GREY KING is one of the better bets on this card. He raced from a handy position over 1600m last time, but was outrun late by Formagear. He would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. He is the class horse in this contest and from his good draw of three, he should be the one to beat.
ANCIENT WORLD finished 0.2 lengths behind ROYAL SWAN MASTER last time. He is 1kg better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He is likely to race on the speed and may be hard to peg back.
ROYAL SWAN MASTER got up late when winning his last start over 1700m on the polytrack. He is likely to be settled near the rear of the field once again and will be mowing down the frontrunners.
Race 9
HITHEMHARDSUNSHINE ran a good race when third in the Listed In Full Flight Handicap last time. He moved up well and stayed on at the finish. He has won twice, finished second twice and third once from seven starts over this distance. Rachel Venniker steps back into the saddle and he may be the one to side with in this line-up.
PRAY FOR RAIN was running on when 2.85 lengths behind the winner in the Dash last time. He has won once, finished second once and third once from four starts over this C&D. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.
COIN SPINNER finished 2.2 lengths behind the second choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result.
Race 10
DONQUERARI should have won his last start in the Dash as he hung inwards throughout. He has won once, finished second twice and third once from seven starts over this C&D. Apprentice Brevan Plaatjies takes the 4kgs off his back and if keeping on a straight line, he can return to winning ways.
B FIFTYTWO fought hard for his last victory over this distance on the Polytrack. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. He is in a good space and merits healthy respect.
STANLEY PARK finished 4.35 lengths behind the second choice last time. He is 2kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result
