BettingDiaryThe DSTV Premier League continues in midweek and we take a look at 3 of the games and suggest a bet in each of them.

TUESDAY

KAIZER CHIEFS v STELLENBOSCH

Tuesday’s featured game sees the return of Kaizer Chiefs taking on high flying Stellenbosch.

Chiefs currently sit 6th on the table and are undefeated in their last 4 with back-to-back victories over SuperSport United 2-1 on the road and Chippa United 4-0 at home. They face a Stellenbosch side that has moved up to 2nd on the table, 3 points behind Sundowns, but having played a game more. My money was firmly on them last time out when they beat Marumo Gallants 1-0 at home and with 8 games into the season they are only 1 of 2 unbeaten sides in the League.

These sides drew both their fixtures in the League last season.

Kaizer Chiefs 13/10

Draw 41/20

Stellenbosch 47/20

Suggested Bet: The draw at 41/20.

I don’t see a lot between these sides and if anything think there could be some value in backing Stellenbosch given their current form. I think they would be more than happy to take a point away from home at Kaizer Chiefs and that looks a likely result to me.

WEDNESDAY

CAPE TOWN CITY v CHIPPA UNITED

Cape Town City will still be recovering from the disappointment of going down to Mamelodi Sundowns on penalties in the MTN8 Cup on the weekend.

They currently sit 11th on the log and are coming off a 4-3 home win over Golden Arrows in the League a game where they led 4-0 after half-time and were left nervously hanging on in the end. That was their first home win in 4 attempts this season.

Chippa United are currently 14th on the log with just 1 win in 8 starts and they haven't won in their last 7 matches. Last time out they got a creditable 0-0 home draw with Swallows. Their last away game was a 4-0 defeat to Kaizer Chiefs.

Cape Town City 11/10

Draw 43/20

Chippa United 11/4

Suggested Bet: Chippa United win at 11/4

There is very little on form to support this bet, but I just have a feeling that Cape Town City are going to struggle to bounce back from the penalty shootout defeat to Sundowns given they were within 1 kick of winning the match. Chippa United can take advantage of the Cape Town City hangover.

MAMELODI SUNDOWNS v MARITZBURG UNITED

Sundowns look almost unstoppable as they head towards a title defence and they are priced as short as 7/20 to do just that.

Sundowns won the MTN8 Cup with a hard fought penalty shootout win over Cape Town City. In the League they have been almost flawless with 6 wins and a draw in their 7 starts. Their last League game was a 1-0 win away at Arrows and quite incredibly in 7 games they have scored 12 goals and have yet to concede.

Maritzburg United are 9th on the table and coming off a much needed home win over Galaxy 1-0. That broke a 3 match run without a victory and on the road this season they have had 3 losses and 1 victory and over 2.5 goals would have arrived in 3 of the 4 Maritzburg United away matches.

Mamelodi Sundowns 9/20

Draw 16/5

Maritzburg United 25/4

Suggested Bet: Both teams to score, YES, at 5/4.

This looks ambitious given that Sundowns have yet to concede a goal, but I have noted that Maritzburg United have scored in all 4 of their away matches and that Sundowns defence will surely be breached at some point.
