SATURDAY

LEEDS v TOTTENHAM

Leeds are in awful form and have only taken 1 point from the last 15 they have played for. They are coming off a 6-0 hammering away at Liverpool and their last away game was a 4-2 defeat to Manchester United. Goals have been flowing freely in Leeds games and there have been 21 goals in total in their last 4 matches.

Tottenham’s form makes some strange reading as they have lost 4 of their last 5 games including a 1-0 away loss at Burnley earlier in the week. Amazingly their 1 victory was a 3-2 win over Manchester City.

Tottenham beat Leeds 2-1 at home earlier this season and Leeds won this fixture 3-1 last season.

Leeds 27/10

Draw 27/10

Tottenham 10/11

Suggested Bet: Under 2.5 goals at 5/4

This might look a strange bet given how many goals Leeds games have had in them, but I think that Leeds are going to adopt a negative strategy here and Tottenham don’t go well against teams that are prepared to let them have the ball, they much prefer counter-attacking football.

EVERTON v MANCHESTER CITY

Everton are battling down in 16th on the table and they have had 1 win and 4 defeats in their last 5 matches. Last time out they lost 2-0 on the road to Southampton, but their last home game was a 3-0 victory over Leeds.

Manchester City are still top of the League, but now only 3 points clear of Liverpool who have a better goal difference. They were stunned last week going down 3-2 at home to Tottenham and that was only their 3rd defeat of the season.

Having a look at the goal scoring stats of these teams, Everton home games have averaged 3.2 goals each with 7 of the 11 matches delivering profits had you backed over 2.5 goals. Manchester City away games have averaged 2.7 goals each with 7 of their 13 games reaching the 3 goal mark. Manchester City are averaging more than 2 goals per game on the road and have only conceded 8 in 13 matches.

City won the reverse fixture 3-0 at home and they have now won their last 8 League matches against Everton, all of those victories coming by more than a goal.

Everton 9/1

Draw 9/2

Manchester City 2/7

Suggested Bet: Handicap, Manchester City (-1.5) at 15/20

I am expecting a bounce back from Manchester City and as mentioned above the head-to-heads stats don’t make good reading for Everton who very seldom push City close and last took a point off them way back in 2017.

SUNDAY

WEST HAM v WOLVES

West Ham go into the weekend 6th on the log, 2 points ahead of Wolves in 7th, but with Wolves having played a game less.

The Hammers are coming off successive draws 1-1 at home to Newcastle and 2-2 on the road against Leicester and overall at home this season they have won 6 and drawn 3 of their 13 matches.

Wolves went down 2-1 away at Arsenal on Thursday night and prior to that they had beaten Leicester 2-1 at home. The defeat to Arsenal broke a run of 4 successive Wolves away wins and looking at the goal stats for the sides, West Ham home games have averaged 3.3 goals each with 8 of the 13 delivering profits had you backed over 2.5 goals. Looking at the away goal record of Wolves it is the lowest scoring in the Division with just 1.8 goals per game and only 3 of the 13 matches have reached the 3 goals mark, overs backers require to win their bet.

Wolves beat West Ham 1-0 at home earlier this season, but last season it was West Ham that did the double including winning this fixture 4-0

West Ham 11/10

Draw 85/40

Wolves 26/10

Suggested Bet: West Ham win at 11/10

I fear that Wolves may have just hit a tipping point in their season and are maybe going to struggle from here on in. West Ham still look very much top 4 contenders for me and I am going to back them to bag all 3 points here.
