BettingDiaryThe English Premier League returns after a short break and we take a look at 3 of Saturday’s matches including Liverpool v Arsenal from a betting angle.

Let’s start with a look at the latest Outright Betting where Manchester City remain firm favourites at 15/20 to defend their title. You can get 5/2 Chelsea, 5/1 Liverpool and 50/1 and better the balance.

LEICESTER v CHELSEA

Leicester are currently 12th on the table and are not in the greatest of form having drawn away to Leeds 1-1 last time out and prior to that they lost 2-0 at home to Arsenal. Leicester’s games have tended to be high scoring this season, averaging 3.1 goals each and had you been backing over 2.5 goals you would have collected profits in 7 of their 11 matches. Both teams have found the back of the net in 6 of the last 7 Leicester games.

Chelsea are top of the table with just 1 defeat in their opening 11 matches, but they did see a 4 match winning streak brought to an end last time out with a disappointing 1-1 draw at home to Burnley. Their last away game was a 3-0 victory over Newcastle and they are undefeated on the road this season in 5 matches.

Leicester 37/10

Draw 11/4

Chelsea 8/10

Suggested Bet: Both teams to score, YES, at 9/10

As mentioned above this has been a common factor in Leicester matches this season and would also have arrived in 3 of the last 4 head-to-head games between the sides.

WATFORD v MANCHESTER UNITED

Watford are currently 17th on the table just 2 points outside the relegation zone. They have lost 7 and drawn 1 of their 11 matches this season and lost their last 2 before the International break, 1-0 at Arsenal and 1-0 at home to Southampton. Prior to that they had a stunning 5-2 come from behind win at Everton.

Manchester United have slipped to 6th on the table only winning 1 of their last 6 games and last time out they lost the Manchester Derby 2-0 at home to City. Their last away game was a 3-0 win over Tottenham. They have only lost once on the road this season.

Watford 5/1

Draw 7/2

Manchester United 8/15

Suggested Bet: Handicap, Watford (+1) at 15/10

I am expecting Watford to improve under new management and Manchester United have blown very hot and cold this season. For this bet to arrive I need Watford to either draw or win the match.

LIVERPOOL v ARSENAL

Liverpool are 4th on the table, 2 points ahead of Arsenal in 5th. Their last game was a disappointing 3-2 away loss at West Ham and that was their 8th successive game that had 3 goals or more in it and their 6th in a row that had at least 4 goals scored. Prior to the West Ham defeat, Liverpool drew 2-2 at home to Brighton.

The Gunners made a very slow start to the season but have won their last 3 games, most recently beating Watford 1-0 at home. Their last away match was an impressive 2-0 win at Leicester.

Liverpool did the double over Arsenal last season winning this fixture 3-1 and the reverse 3-0 at the Emirates.

Liverpool 5/10

Draw 39/10

Arsenal 5/1

Suggested Bet: Over 3.5 goals at 12/10

There have been plenty of goals when these sides have met in previous seasons and this bet actually would have arrived in 7 of the last 10 head-to-heads including the last 5.
