BettingDiaryThe 3rd T20 between India and South Africa takes place in Indore on Tuesday and we take a look at what is now effectively a dead rubber from a betting angle.

India wrapped up the 3 match series in some style when they beat South Africa by 16 runs on Sunday. They had won the 1st T20 by 8 wickets in a low scoring affair, but Sunday’s match was very different and having been sent in to bat by the South Africans, India got away to a lightning fast start, eventually racking up a massive 237 for 3 with excellent contributions from all of the Top 4, but in particular Yadav who scored 61 off just 22 balls. The South African pace attack took a battering and stand out bowler for the Proteas was Maharaj with 2 for 23 in 4 overs, a performance that could be argued deserved Man of the Match.

South Africa were in trouble early with ducks for Bavuma and Rossouw before an out-of-sorts Quinton de Kock and Aiden Markram steadied the innings. Things really got going when David Miller got to the crease and he scored an exceptional 106 off 47 balls supported by de Kock 69 not out, which although on the face of it was impressive was too slow early on and meant that South Africa was never likely to reach the target and they finished on 221 for 3.

Top home bowler bettors would have collected on Arshdeep Singh who got 2 wickets although he did go at 15 runs an over.

India 5/10

South Africa 33/20

This match is now a dead rubber and there is certainly a chance that both teams will make changes with the forthcoming World Cup in mind. That been said I also feel that India will be looking to keep momentum going as they head into the World Cup so I don’t expect them to step off the gas and they are certainly worthy favourites at 5/10.

As usual though I prefer some of the Exotic Markets and here are my plays for the 3rd T20.

Player to score the most 6’s, Markram at 7/1

When you bet in this market it is always fairly speculative play and I like the way Markram has looked in the first two T20’s and if he can stay at the crease a bit longer he could be a runner in this market. I also like him in the Top Away Batsman market at a price of 15/4.

Top Away Bowler, Maharaj at 7/2

He was certainly stand out in the second T20, not only keeping runs down, but also getting wickets and I see no reason why he can’t repeat the performance.
