TUESDAY

MARUMO GALLANTS v ORLANDO PIRATES

The Marumo Gallants got their PSL life off to a tough start when they lost 2-0 away to Baroka on the weekend. That result leaves them bottom of the table as the only team to lose by more than a goal in the first round of PSL matches.

Orlando Pirates were 9/10 to beat Stellenbosch in their opening game at home, however after falling behind they managed to salvage a 2-2 draw despite playing with 10 men. The week before they had been dumped out of the MTN8 Cup by Swallows.

Marumo Gallants 4/1

Draw 22/10

Orlando Pirates 17/20

Suggested Bet: Pirates win at 17/20

There was quite a bit of merit in Pirates 2-2 draw with Stellenbosch given that they had a red card and I think they can bag 3 points against a Marumo Gallants side that looks set for a long battle to survive in the PSL.

WEDNESDAY

SUPERSPORT UNITED v GOLDEN ARROWS

SuperSport were away to Cape Town City on the weekend and given that I was expecting goals in the encounter, the sides played out a pretty disappointing 0-0 draw and it was 1 of 5 matches in the PSL that didn’t reach the 2 goal mark. Golden Arrows got their campaign off to a winning start beating Maritzburg United 2-1 at home.

These sides met just over a week ago in the MTN8 quarter-finals with Golden Arrows winning 3-2 on penalties to progress to the last 4 and last season it was Arrows who did the double over SuperSport winning 1-0 on the road and 2-1 at home.

SuperSport United 27/20

Draw 21/10

Golden Arrows 21/10

Suggested Bet: The draw at 21/10

There is seldom much between these sides and the draw has arrived in 2 of the last 3 meetings hosted by SuperSport United.

KAIZER CHIEFS - BAROKA

Chiefs were held to a goalless draw away at Galaxy in their match on Sunday, a game where they started 14/10 favourites. The week before they bowed out of the MTN8 Cup losing to Mamelodi Sundowns on penalties.

Baroka got their campaign off to a good start with a 2-0 home win over Marumo Gallants and they were in retrospect a fairly generous 16/10 for the win.

The last 3 matches between these sides have finished 1-1 and the last 7 head-to-head encounters across all competitions have failed to reach 3 goals.

Kaizer Chiefs 13/20

Draw 5/2

Baroka 9/2

Suggested Bet: The Handicap Kaizer Chiefs (-1), the draw at 3/1

I think Chiefs will get their campaign going here, but it should be a tight match and I am backing them to win by 1 goal exactly.
