He is again slightly out at the weights today but romped to two effortless victories in his only two c & d appearances. He is well drawn and should take a power of beating. MANOUCHE was soundly beaten by the first selection two weeks ago and is 1.5kgs worse off at the weights indicating the mammoth task on his hands. That said, this chestnut gelding tries this distance for the first time and has given the indication that he could see it out.

The above-average three-year old BONGO DANCE returns after a successful stint in PE where he earned money in both his feature starts. The local could still be way ahead of the handicapper at this early stage and will be a deserved favourite on his handicap debut. He has much improvement to come and will be cherry-ripe with the slight reservation being whether he has recovered from the journey in such a short space of time.

Trainer Coerie Lensley is still working out VENTURI's optimum distance but the chestnut filly has shown ability and she had an eye-catching last five furlong sprint which did indicate that she could relish today's rise in trip. She had excuses for her penultimate run when trying the mile. The daught- er of Traffic Guard has scope for improvement and the wide draw may not hamper her progress as she runs on well.

PEP SQUAD turned the tables on ENTICER in commanding fashion as she registered an emphatic 6.25 length victory over this c & d in weaker company last time out. She was heavily penalized six pounds for her exertions but she placed at this level previously and could be a major threat from her better draw today.
