Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 3: EKUSENI(4)
Jockey: Marco V/RENSBURG- Trainer: Stuart PETTIGREW

EKUSENI was shrewdly supported at long-odds when he produced an eye-catching debut over this c & d late last season and he would have come on appreciably from the experience. The half-brother to Losti- ntranslation was slow into stride but ran on strongly late for 3rd. Unfortunately, the runner-up Tapenzee flopped recently when not cornering the Vaal turn but only after acquitting himself well in a decent line-up on his seasonal debut. This son of Await The Dawn should have much more to offer and will take a power of beating from the best draw.

Race 4: EFFORTLESS(2)
Jockey: Mark KHAN - Trainer: Gary ALEXANDER

EFFORTLESS is lightly raced and she benefitted from a short absence after flopping badly second time out. The daughter of Antonius Pius quickly got back to form when running on for 3rd from a wide draw on the inside course four weeks ago and she will strip fitter today. She should enjoy the extra ground and can give former champion jockey Mark Khan a winning return to the saddle after surprisingly coming out of retirement.

TOP BET

Race 5: LIKE A PANTHER(6)
Jockey: Piere STRYDOM - Trainer: Mike & Adam AZZIE

LIKE A PANTHER had two promising seven furlongs efforts on this track as a juvenile last campaign but seems to have suffered a setback as he returns after a 21 week absence. He would have strengthened during the break though and the son of Captain Al should continue to improve with racing. His trainer will have him fit and well and he should go close from the best draw.

Race 6: CASHEL PALACE(7)
Jockey:  Randall SIMONS- Trainer: Alec LAIRD

CASHEL PALACE's jockey raced with a slipped saddle but this daughter of Fort Wood still produced a quality debut performance over seven furlongs on this course six weeks ago. She attracted outside betting support that day and ran on well for 3rd in a similar line-up. She should make natural improv ement and will relish this extra furlong.

VALUE BET FOR TODAY:

Race 8: KING OF THE DELTA(11)
Jockey:Marco V/RENSBURG - Trainer: Stuart PETTIGREW

KING OF THE DELTA sprinted well second time out when he ran on strongly to finish runner-up over five furlongs at the Vaal. He finished a neck in front of Singaswewin (placed 3rd at handicap level seven days ago) that day and should relish today's extra furlong. The son of Antonius Pius merits respect in this competitive field.
